Ok WRX ATL Which would you rather see us campaign next year...and maybe the rest of this year as our Time Attack Car. hey where is my Poll damn it Anyways here are the options We can continue to campaign my 06 STI Jeremy has offered to let me campaign his 650+hp Bugeye I have a GC8 and a 06 driveline with a built motor and a 35R Think Dougs car with 600hp and a bottle. Or the fourth option....shut up Matt no one cares To review 06 STI 03 Bugeye 1995 impreza L coupe Or shut up Matt
i love your sti...but i'd also love to see that damn bugeye out of the shop lol or done at least. but yeah sti, cause it's closer to my car.
I'm leaning toward my car, but the GC8 is so light, we probally wont be able to get within 300lbs of a gc chassis. I've got this huge list of plus and minus going for each chassis. Its pretty even so far. Go to bed its like 230 in the morning
lol old men in this thread, right? Keep Jeremy's car as a purebred drag car and make it faster than anything ever before. Keep the 06 STi and show what a late model Subaru can do with decent mods. The GC would be nice but for the amount of track time the car will see I'm sure you'll appreciate the 100% stiffer chassis. I guess that comes down to the tradeoff of weight vs rigidity. 4th option, build the hell out of the Z06 and give up on all imports?!?!?!
I say stick with the 06 STi. The bugeye will never handle like your car Matt unless you build it all up. The bugeye is meant to hurt feelings at the dragstrip and that's it
Sounds like a winner to me I voted bugeye, but that's just my bias. You'd probably be better off with the sti.
Screw the 06, you know you want to create a gc8. So do it, it'll be cool as fuck, and if you do some seam welding or use the polyeurathane chassis filler it'll be nice and strong anyway. Anyone could enter a competition with an 06, and even if you fail miserably, everyone would remember you for being the GC. And as for the comment about the bugeye's being a drag car.... I almost wept.
I would imagine that you would be able to get more sponsorship with a newer car. Why not an 08 STi? If it was for the one lap and the sponsorship from a newer car wasn't the issue, I guess the Impreza L would be the best option, as it would put you in a lower class and have less weight. -- Brian
My vote is for the GC...Wait do you have one of those too? If not, check your PM's I know where one is CHEAP!
I vote 06 sti, if done right the cars weight can get within the same weight as the gc. Plus its much easier to gain sponsors on a newer car than one thats 11 years old.
haha i think doug just doesnt want any competition in the economy class at one lap next year:keke: no matter what you choose, im sure it will be a beast on the track
I'm sure that thought hasn't crossed either ones mind. Competition is just that competition. Everyone's fighting for the overall win anyways
'06. Why are you even thinking about this? How much time and money do you have in the '06? What the crap would you do with it if you changed cars? have you thought about lexan windows and some lighter wheels? That would be a big step if you don't already have that.
Actually don't think I will be running the brigton in next years one lap. It has turned into a true track car. Not much left for street comforts for one lap. If we do onelap next year it will be in something nice, think C6 Z06, 911TT, or an E55 AMG. We would be running just to have fun, and not so much about trying to win it.
ahh...damn I was really hoping to see you give davia and those other guys a run for their money for first overall with a 1990s subaru vs. their 150k porsches although I imagine an E55 AMG will be a little more comfortable :ddirty:
nah... just ask Heather... Alex is a cool guy, and has many facets of his personality that appeal to all!
hhahhahhaha... I would like to see SS and slow campaign onelap together on a moped... that must count for something, right?
^^^ roflmao, it'd be just like "dumb and dumber" with 2 guys having snot-sicles. err, actually that'd be gross and taint "The Siegel's" online persona (not withstanding BrianGT's mega Siegel photochop thread)
hahaha... sadly enough, I can just picture SS and Matt on a moped together, around the country...........
