I am running a VF22 @ 20psi, STi top mount, STi pinks, and 1 step colder iridiums (among other things, but these are the most pertinent)on an 02 WRX. My question is: Is the VF22 able to put out enough cfm to warrant modded stock injectors to increase my over all power and does anyone KNOW the smallest intercooler necessary for such a set up? I don't have any desire for a huge front mount! I'm just collecting info to get the most out of my tune w/SS in the very near future.:naughty:
Your setup is well matched. The sti tmic would be the smallest I would go with. You might pick up a little more with a bigger tmic but it wouldn't justify the cost. Just get meth instead.
yea modded injectors would be overkill for any vf series turbo. I actually ran a stock wrx topmount for quite a while with that very same turbo with no problems. I agree with the bigger topmount idea though and for even more umph the meth idea.
Thanks for the input! I have been considering meth but it would put my tune further out.....hmmmm, we'll see how it goes.
Like you need any more power..... You could always up the compression on the engine a bit for a lil more added oomph
Ebay TM's are fairly inexpensive, and the powa is worth it IMO. I had the STI TM then the huge EBAY (liked the power but hated the look) so...back to STI (missed the Xtra ponies) now got the Hyperflow its Huge, looks good and the powa is back. I have virtually the same setup as you but have the vf39 and meth. I would like to keep my same top end power and spool a bit quicker and I would be golden.
