My hood scoop keeps getting big paint chips on it, does anyone else have this problem? What is the best way to repair this? I have the OEM paint to repair small chips, but it never looks completely right when I apply it, any tips? Thanks for the help.

Seems that WRX hoods / scoops are very susceptible to chips. You could order a can of color match spray paint for the scoop. I realized to do that you need to order a primer, a prepaint for plastic parts, the paint, and clearcoat. You are looking at about $70 plus a fair amount of labor. If you want a project though it may give you a good excuse. The paint can be found at http://www.paintscratch.com/ or http://duplicolor.com/index.html .

Also, the stock paint is very thin which doesn't help.

mine has a big paint peel in it I may just get another hood scoop. but painting is the cheaper option.

If you can find a used one at a decent price, it may be cheaper than painting. For ref, an STI scoop goes for about $100 on nasioc. A stock WRX should be less. You just have to find your color.

I bought a new used stock one. Anyone want to buy a chipped / peeling WRB WRX scoop. It would make a good one to mess around with to paint.

Not yet was thinkin bout it but the cf would look so much better. will the 04-05 hood scoop fit in the same spot as the 02?
