My fellow STi owners! Hello! My name is Josh and I live in Weaverville, NC. It is great to finally join WRXAtlanta! I have been around Turbo Subies since my first purchase of a WRX in 2001. I have been in love ever since. Don't ask me why I am just joining all the forum sites! Right now, I am driving my MY06 STi. It is WRB with gold BB's and I am in the process of turning it into the WRC car. My first part of the transformation were the decals and currently have all in place except for the BIG one down the side and it is coming next month. As far as performance goes, I am a traveling golfer in college so my funds are subsequently limited but every chance I get, I buy something new. I currently have custom Magnaflow exhaust, COBB stg 1, TEIN S-Tech lowering springs, 20% tint, and a SPT SRI w/ heat shield and custom ram-air. Here are a few pics of my car. Thanks!

Looks cool. Is that some sort of homemade brake ducting you got going in the passenger's side foglight cover?

no the air is actually leading right to that suction i have in another pic. that is 3" PVC and is leading right to the filter. i have monitored it and with my custom setup, i am consistenly 10-12 degrees cooler than with no flowing air. the spt's run very hot and heatsoak is a major problem. i just thought i would cut down on that a little! thanks

Hmm, well if the car is only stage 1, then most people on the boards will tell you to go back to the stock intake box. Especially in hotlanta! I've heard heat soaked intakes can cost you 20 horsepower sometimes!

Awesome. I am envious of your car. I am also in the process of turning my car into a WRC Replica, but I am probably going in reverse order. Decals will be the last thing I do, after I spend Eleventy Billion dollars on the Burn-Up WRC Widebody Kit, a V-Mount Intercooler, and some other goodies.

Doug is a great tuner, and you are right, most of us probably have never heard of Matt from 3sx. I would actually highly recommend Scott Seigel formerly from Subaru of Gwinnett, now in house Tuner for Batlground. He has tuned my car at least 3 times, and I am always happy with the end result. He is also a really cool guy that, if you want, will explain everything he is doing, as he does it. I have riden with him while he has tuned many cars, and he always takes the time to answer questions, and explain things as he goes. His customer service alone is well worth it, but again Doug is a great tuner, and I can't knock his work.

Not sure, Scott is new to having a Dyno to be able to easily tune with. He used to do 95% of his tuning on the road. He used to charge ~ $120 per hour. He never charged me over an hour, even when he took considerable longer to tune. Doug charged about the same to Dyno Tune, and then finished it up with a quick Road Tune to correct for Real World Conditions.

I can't say for certain, but I would guess that Scotts charge hasn't changed because he has very good competition right across the city. You could always call Batlground to confirm prices, and Topspeed as well. Unfortunately, I never paid for Tuning with Doug, or my last one with Scott. I won a free tune from Doug at our last Dyno Day at Topspeed, and a free tune from Scott at our 555 Party.

Me too. Scott will tune your shit so it wont blow up and make a helluva lot of power. When I get home I'm just gonna give him the keys and some money and say do it! Lol.

^^they have said it all SS FTW! Keyword *SAFE* and you will not find nicer person in the industry. Batlground charges 155per hour and you will be charged about 2hrs, he will spend half the day and finish with a road tune/check to make sure all is safe for the road given the different loads from dyno to street.

well topspeed or SS it is(still haven't decided). ya know...i was set on 3sx in charlotte but excellent customer service and a great tune are hard to come by and SS sounds like a winner. i am really shooting for some big numbers off the tune. i have friends that have gone to 3sx and have come back with 40whp JUST from the tune alone, not to mention what they gained with their mods. i am still researching but i really appreciate the info.

here is the custom 3" axelback w/ magnaflow race muffler. i searched forever for a muffler that would mate up and look awesome. i found it and it came out 100% like i wanted to. i absolutely love it but the sound is too quiet for me!!! it will open up though after about 200 miles. here is the link
