Track Day Hey guys, Glad to see everyone getting excited about Club Wars at Talladega. Remember, your $150.00 Fee will include a Catered Meal. If you bring friends and Family, you may want to concider bringing something for them to eat & Drink. We are very near on posting another Club Wars Event so keep an eye out. J Man Redline Auto Club.
Look, it's not ALL about HP on the track. There's only one way to learn skills. Lap one you'll suck ass. By lap 6 you WONT be the slowest one out there. For $150, you'll have a ton of fun, meet nice people, get lunch, and have the memory of a lifetime. :wavey: Just bleed your brakes before you go.
so let me get this straight....there's only THREE (3) of us signed up right now? ROFL at the Seagull of Borg.
Sending Money Now. So are the times based on Driver or Car...For instance can Siegel Run my Sti as well or does he have to run a diffrent car. Matt
Well, it looks like I'll take home at least third place over all you fools. So unless you have the balls (or ovaries) to come out and prove me wrong.... I'm faster than you!!!!!!
That's what you said last night which is why I posted. I was hoping to get a solid answer from someone who knows for sure
List updated. Note that the first 8 deposits get a guaranteed spot at the event. After September 1st, more spots might open up but this is not guaranteed. As the list currently stands, 6 spots have been reserved. Also, please send your screen name with your paypal payment.
ok guys, I am in. Never been to a track before, but I have done 2 autox's. I am REALLY looking forward to this. Can we take a coach with us on the practice laps? I know I am going to need some instruction.
^^My first also, hopefully there will be a TGP event before then. Otherwise I just plan to find the limits in the practice session.
All 8 spots have been filled. Registration is now closed. Keep checking this thread for spots that might open up after September 1st.
I'm really pumped about going, but if I need to give up my spot to better the team I will. I'm in a mostly stock car. As things progress, PM me if this situation arises.
You have a STI, a bone stock STI with an average driver can do well @ this track. It should be even better now that the track has been repaved and hopefully faster than in the past!
I hear ya. I'm thinking about buying a pressure bleeder if anyone on the list wants to go in on it with me. I'm sure you all know how important it is to overhaul your brakes. You'll want to change your fluid for sure!
woah.. i forgot about this. so far I don't have a passenger... anyone want to ride in the STi of DOOM?!
HP+ seems to work for me. If you have big HP you may need more, but I'm stock so I don't need more than that. The most important part is fresh high-temp fluid.
Not sure on the Pads, SOG and Batl prob. (ie they should) stock them -- same with fluid, but I couldn't be sure as I just order mine on the internet. Did you try any of the motorcycle shops yet?
The Best thing to do at this point is call carbotech direct and have them ship them to you. Get xp10s for the front and xp8s for the rear. ATE super blue should be fine for brake fluid. See you there. Matt
I drive my xp12s on the street but they are noisy. If you don't want to deal with noise I wouldn't recomend getting them. Why not just change pads for the street. Matt
Unless they are too bad for the street, I'd rather stick with the same pads on and off the track. I have a decent tolerance for noise, so a noisy pad isn't a deal breaker. Dust isn't a big concern either. However, what I am concerned about is how much does it take to heat them up? I drive maybe 2 miles to school and back. Would the pads be decent without braking from highway speeds? Also, would they be expected to damage the rotor if they are mostly run cold? The XP10 and XP8 combo sounds pretty good. Have you run them at the track? Should I expect them to fade at Tally?
You can pick up the HP+ pads from wrxbrakes.com they ship really fast from the Carolinas. Good prices too. Not sure about the carbotech's as they changed the compound when the company changed hands. The bobcats that everyone loved are gone. The closest to those, with a higher heat tolerance are the HP+ from hawk. I have been told (porter, crash and rs22b) they also have a good bite when cold. I am going to pick some up for the track event myself. If you guys want, I can probably get Ken (wrxbrakes.com) to do a group buy for this time attack. Fluid and pads and such.
The hawk HP+ pads barely qualify as a track pad. The pad compounds are better than they have ever been and last time I checked they still had the bobcats.
ANNOUNCEMENT Two additional spots are now open for WRXatlanta. We will close registration after a total of 10 spots for WRXatlanta are filled.
I cannot wait till this happens, I am hoping we have a track day before this so I can practice some more...Anyone else up for it?
