^^^ You would rather spend $40k on the Civic RR over this SEXY 300hp turbo 335i? I can't say I would do the same.
What options!?!?!?! You've already got the twin turbo 6, what more could you want!?!?! (other than awd w/ dsg of course)
yeah. because after 3 years the civic would cost less for everything. including mechanics. and every person that does fix cars can work on it. but then again, unless it's being modded, chances are the civic won't break. not to mention, its a 2 door, yuck!
Oh damn, I retract all my previous statements. I now know why they are charging 40 grand for this Civic. Because dual exhausts on a 4 banger is cool.
something with a LSD maybe?? I had a yellow Type R (y0!) before I got my sti, and sometimes I honestly miss that car. It was sooo tossable and the shift action was so perfect. Sure it didn't make any torque, but it sure was fun running it up to 8400rpm. I don't miss having to worry about whether it was being stolen or having police follow me around due to the color. This doesn't even account for all the ricers always revving and trying to race.
wow... now that was a bitching fest. Damn people lay it out: Look what cars are in the $40K group. Now look at the 'sporty' cars in that group. Now tell me that the Civic has an upper hand there... Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, its not about HONDA. Its about the best bang for the buck. It really isn't that difficult. Trey, if you can afford $40,000 for a Civic, be my guest, but in doing so, you'll also know that since your all about the 'track worthiness' of a car, you WILL be beat by the other cars in that group, stock for stock. Its not about Honda...
who gives 2 shi#s about it...its not like their going to release it in the states anyways...at least for now.
I hear ya. I'm about to die and it's not even 9! I got to get home and start working on my quad so I can ride
Just for clarity, let's start a list of "sporty" cars that you can get for 40k: Audi A4 Audi TT BMW 3 series Honda s2000 Infinity G35 Lexus IS250/IS350 Lotus Elise (base model is 43k, so that's close) Mazda RX-8 MazdaSpeed 3 Mercedes SLK (Base model 43k, again close) Mini Cooper Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Nissan 350Z Yes, I know some are over 40K, but I know many people would pay a little extra to get a benz or a lotus over a honda civic OK, that's enough for now, its time for lunch.
Speaking of cars not worth the money! They look kind of cool, but you can only get a manual with the SLOWER version of the car that has one of the most confusing motors ever: 2.5L V6 DOHC variable valve timing/camshaft 12:1 Compression Ratio (so it takes premium) direct injection All that for a whopping 204 CRANK HP and 185 Lb Ft of Torque. WTF are they doing?!?

WTF are they doing?!?" I think potential Lexus owners might be disappointed if their car DIDN'T require premium! This kind of reminds me of this older dude who got a BMW Z4; he told me about it so I asked, "Did you get the manual transmission?" "Yeah, I got the tiptronic thingy, you know" "Ah, I see" Some people will buy anything with the right label on it.
God damn Manumatics. Unless you have the BMW or the Ferrari system, you are worthless. All I am saying is that the IS series should not even make the "sporty" list. For all intents and purposes, it is an aggressively styled luxury car. But you are right, people will buy anything with the right badge! My boss just got an '00 M5. One of the bolt on supercharger kits for it was $15k. Apparently it is the same supercharger as a Mustang with different brackets. Guess how much the Mustang's system costs? $5k. Oh, Bimmer owners...
All you people bashing the Lexus IS need to drive one! The IS350 is an awesome car! I went to a Lexus driving event in Irvine, CA last weekend and got to beat up on one of those. It's definitely nothing to gripe about. It makes a little over 300hp, handles quite nicely for stock (minimum body roll), and looks damn nice inside and out. Granted, I'd rather be driving my dads Grand Touring 350z or an STi Limited, but I definitely gained a lot of respect for the IS. Lexus is releasing an IS-F this coming year that comes with a V8 and 400+ hp (I believe it was quoted at 415 at the event). I don't know about all of you, but I'd definitely cover it in my man juice. And while I do agree that the lack of manual is kind of lame, the tiptronic style trannies are not shabby at all.
No thanks, that looks like a Camry!!! I guess it is a personality thing, but I think triptronic is for wannabe vaginas.
You are insane. That thing is beautiful. At least it doesn't look like a fancy Civic anymore. That is what I thought the original IS looked like.
I believe Audi's paddle shifters are based on a dual-clutch tranny, instead of a glorified automatic complete with torque converter, right?
You look like a Camry. Haha, besides some people tell me that my car (your car) looks like a neon/kia from time to time. I mean, us Subaru drivers are all about performance over looks. Eh, but to each his own. I'm just saying don't knock it until you try it. Aside from the lack of manual, it really is a fun and sporty car (the IS350 that is).
HAHAHAHA~! well the whole thing about the 40k civic is... well yes its freakin expensive... but its a collectible car. 300 made?.... its like saying yeah i for the same money got this civic instead of getting me a sti, evo, or a m3. see how ridiculous that sounds?
oh and i paid over 40k for my evo and i thought i was crazy when i looked back to the day that i got my car... fuck Rick case duluth. bunch of theives. sorry i hate rick case so much...
are u serious?!?! not many cars could ever touch the tyPe ARR, but tyPe ARR ARRR???????? that is so jdm its almost overwhelming
