Atlanta Region SCCA - Under the lights Saturday night at AMS

THIS SATURDAY, August 18th 3pm at Atlanta Motor Speedway....

Dear WRXAtl members ,

SCCA Nationals is just around the corner and this AMS lot is very similar to Topeka's surface. There are several SEDIV drivers coming into our region planning to attend this event and prepare for Topeka. This event is on the right surface, at the right time, with the right temperatures and the right competition for YOU to be ready for Topeka. This event promises the feel of a divisional with all the big names in the SouthEast in attendance.

Come be a part of the "coolest" event you will ever run in August! Atlanta Motor Speedway provides a huge lot with a "Nationals-like" surface and lots of light. Headlights are not required. 3:00PM Site opens
3:15PM Check in and Tech Open*

4:45PM First car off
*note- Check in and tech will only open once during this event

NOVICES ARE 100% welcome, this is a great time to learn, heck we'll even put an instructor in the car with you for your runs. (just ask david carroll)

Hey Brian,

Thanks for posting this up! I'm planning on being there.

 

Russ and I will be there also. After last weekend, I can't miss another fast race like AMS. I am skipping Danville, because the AMS will probably be very similar and much less of a drive.

 

I wish I could have made a night event this year

 

I'm working on it.

 

I'll be there as usual... haven't missed an event this year

 

How many of the WRXAtl folks will show up? Can you guys get a club outing going? I am thinking about bringing a grill and cooking dinner, hanging out until late at AMS having fun with my Chevrolet friends.

ATLWRX should do the same, throw up an ez-up, bring a grill, some brats and some brownies and hang out!

- Run order will be based on the established color coded order for the event:
Heat 1 (Red+Karts)- F125, AM, AS, ASP, BM, FM, HS, ST2, STX
heat 2 (Yellow+Novice)- BSP, CM, DM, EM, EP, ESP, SM, STU
-20 minute walk break-
Heat 3- (PRO+Blue)- AP, BP, BS, CSP, DSP, FS, FSP, GS,SS
Heat 4 (Green+Time Only)- CP, CS, DP, DS, ES, FP, FSAE, SM2, STS

-If your car does not have headlights and you are concerned about visablity, please contact me to make arrangements.

Work Order
Heat 1- Blue + Pro
Heat 2- Green + TO
Heat 3- Red + Novice
Heat 4 Yellow
- Worker Change will be on the fly

- Final run/work order may be adjusted pending entry.

No season pass for this event since it's capped.... wanted to ensure that no season pass holders would get locked out of an event they technically paid for.

What time are folks heading down from the Atlanta area?

 

Probably around 1 for me, but its about a 3 hour tour.

Meredith, do you happen to know the wheel weight of the 17x8.5 rota slipstream?

 

I would guess around 22lbs

 

No idea... I'm just trying to antagonize people into registering.... You wanna buy some pink G-forces from me?

 

That seems like too much considering my 16x8's are 16lbs.

I am just trying to keep the thread alive.

 

The 17x8 slipstreams were 20.5 lbs when I measured them.

I had those on my '03. they are NOT light. I want to say... 24ish??? if you need to test fit one help me get Kerklo to come out to an autoX and actually do something with his new car!!!!

Personally, I'm saving for 17x8 enki rpf1s. :naughty:

 

Our chief safety steward told me it's a no no.... just put water in your tank you'll be fine. So far I have not seen anybody come to an event with Meth as it will most likely not help you on an autox course.

Doh! I was hoping for a cheap substitute. There are a few wheels that I have been looking at, those are one. The advan's and gram lights are nice also. The SSR's are a little heavy.

 

My enkeis feel lighter than my bbs... wait then again I have huge tires on the bbs wheels
