I am going to be heading over to SOG later to pick up some fluids.

How much fluid do I need for the rear diff and the tranny?
Also what fluids should I use in each?

Finally do I need to bring my own containers

Bring your own containers. Find Will and tell him what you want and he will get you the appropriate amount. Also use ONLY Subaru fluids......STi's don't like the other stuff. I think the rear is a higher viscosity than the tranny fluid.

I think the tranny is 4 quarts and the rear diff is 2. Don't quote me so add 1 quart to each.

Yes they do. I'd rather fart in a can and whiff it all day than to smell tranny fluids....lol

For a MT6 transmission fluid change I think the requirement is 4.3 liters of Subaru Extra S ( get your own container for this )

The rear diff uses Subaru LSD oil that comes in it's own blue can.

Also, you might want to get new front and rear washers for the 6mt while you are there.

    "Transmission Clutch side washer" 803926070
"Transmission oil pan side washer" 803916080

I have a Subaru MT6 procedure in jpeg format that could be posted by the moderators.
( I get a "file too big error" when I try to upload the 126KB file)

Use only the Extra-S in the 6MT. Others will result in FAIL.

Use only the SUBARU 90w LSD Oil in the rear diff of the 2004~2006 STi. Others will result in FAIL.

    The 6MT takes 4.0L.

    The rear diff takes 0.8L.

You will need to bring your own container for the Extra-S.

The LSD oil comes in a blue 1L can.

Price for the Extra-S is about $12/L.

Price for the LSD oil is around $20, I think.
