I've heard about the board from different Subaru drivers for a couple years, just haven't been on. I drive an '04 STi, no mods except for a guage pod (oil temp/pressure, boost). I do run two sets of wheels, SSRs with Goodyear Eagle F1s for the street, and the stock BBS wheels with Falkens for the track/mountains etc. I'd like to get another set of SSRs to run wider rubber on track etc. I live in Marietta, work in Alpharetta. I'm up for mountain runs, track days, anything really. I had to put alot of stuff on hold while I started a solo business a year ago, but probably next year I'll be up for alot more driving and some work on the car to make it meaner on the track. Anyway, hello to everyone.
Welcome, you should come out to a local autox event! Our next event is Oct 7th at turner field. You can also come out to the subaru challenge too!
Whats your avatar photo? Welcome to the community :wavey: Look forward to seeing you out at an event.
Over a year ago. I've been out for a while except for going to N. Georgia mountains. I'm of the "learn to drive the hell out of it stock first" philosophy. Next year I'd like to start some R-Compound, then sways, meth injection, tune. My goal is to keep up with non-Z06 vettes on the track. More grip and a more fat non-peaky power would make me happy. That's my mascott, Toothy.
Welcome to the family :wavey: If some hasn't PM'd already, go to "Private Messages" and on the far left you will see "Edit Signature" As Meredith said, come out to an Autox...you'll have a blast and meet lots of people. Hope to see you around!
Oh yea! Thanks for finding that boost leak. I need to get back out to you guys. If I hear one more person ask me "what's knocking in your trunk" I'm going to go nuts. Not to mention it's like the chinese water torture when I'm in traffic. I'll have to think about AutoX vs the mountains on the 22nd. Honestly, in the mountains I'll get 1000 times more seat time, without the cone marks :ddirty: But then again I haven't autocrossed in years, sounds like fun.
I'd rather have cone rash than tree rash any day of the week! Autox isn't about seat time, it's about getting it done in 3 or 4 runs! I'll be in AL for some last minute practice before nationals.
But tree rash is all natural! Besides, you can wax your ride with the sap. Rule #1 of Touge club: Keep it out of the trees. I'm very tempted to do some autocrossing. Maybe next time around.
I dunno... you might all jump me for the extra 1/2 liter! Is Sung or Sara going to be there? I haven't seen them in awhile! (used to own an evo)
We actually have several 04 STi's in on a regular basis...they make the same noises that yours does. Use the GTP and trade in for an 07!
Ya, its an 04 STi problem, here is a link, http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11726 its the first thing I asked about when I joined, luckily it doesn't sound too serious, just annoying. Oh ya welcome to the boards.
