I am in need of new tires shortly. Does anybody have a recomendation for a good tire at an affordable cost? I have the stock rims and want to put a 215 or 225 on them. I've been reading some reviews on tires in my price range (roughly around $100 a tire). Also on another subject, my car came with a turbo timer and I've noticed that after pressing one of the buttons, the display changes from the count down time to a number that jumps around rapidly. This number stays around 13-14.xx and a WR appears next to it. Any idea what this means?
http://www.edgeracing.com/tires/2254516/ my first choice of tire is the Falken FK-452. great all around tire! and the 225-45/16 is the best size for you! that's all I got.
That's true it is. I had a set of 225 50 16 and the sidewall was mush. With the 45 series profile, it looks awesome, nice and aggressive, but still has enough sidewall not to have too much gap. I had no performance on the same tire in a 225 50 16. just my food for thought.
225-50-ZR16 BFG SPRT G-FORCE treadwear 340AA Is a good tire at a good price. Call Discount Tire and give them part number 85895.
The 45 will change your actual speed slightly. You should check the tire size calculator here: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit. That will tell you the overall diameter change, and you will have to multiply your speed and subtract or add that number to it to get actual speed, or just have it recalibrated. I went with the Falken Ziex's from vulcantires.com. They were really cheap, and are a good all season tire. I went with all seasons because I already have race tires and I wasn't going to spend the extra $ on a 280 treadware tire that won't last as long.
I'm pretty happy with my Kumho SPTs. Although I'm going to try out the BFG G-Force sports next if I'm looking for a budget performance tire.
Im not sure what turbo timer it is. Its a black square mounted where the ashtray was so I can't see any labels. I'm thinking maybe its voltage?
