i watch porn when im bored... or go out and look for something todo to my car. but hey thats just me. lol
When you push the Print Screen key, it'll make a copy of your desktop and whichever windows you have open. I don't have Photoshop so pasted it into Paint, saved it, then uploaded it.
You should have built that pc your self instead of buying it from DELL. You cant even overclock that beast you have.
I used to build pc's but I got lazy this time around. =\ Why can't I overclock this? It's not as easy as going into the bios and trying to do that? I've never tried overclocking before.
its Chung Wang... how many times must i tell you. lol ive asked my computer how fast it was but the thing didnt answer. :keke:
eh, no pics but core 2 duo @ 3.4G w/ 2GB mem, 8800gts 320mb, 150gb raptor and 500mb normal drives in a nice quiet Antec P180b case.
Matt, you're running Vista Home Premium on that QUAD code?!?!? Man get premium or go backwards to XP Pro. I'd run XP Pro until SP2 of Vista comes out. I'd build a PC if all my money didn't go to my car and to Joe for his great services every night.
C2D E6550 2.33 overclocked to 3.01 Slowly working my way up to 3.3 eVGA 680i Sli 2 gigs Corsair 8800 GTS 640 22" widescreen resolution at 1680 X 1050 400 GB Sata II HD and 500 GB external for storage CM 690 case with 11 fans and a fan controller 750 watt psu
I'm at my laptop, my desktop is 6 years old with the super badass AMD thunderbird atholon with blazing 1.4ghz Building: Intel 6850 Crosair 1GBX2 1066mhz Abit P35 pro: 1333 fsb Asus EN8600GTS silent: passive cooled Western Digital carviar se16 200GB, super silent Scythe Mines revesion B 100mm fan, Cpu heat sink <---- back ordered. sigh Seasonic S12 550w,one of the quietest power supplies around i have everything except heatsink and case, still looking for a quiet case, I am looking to build a quick system that is SILENT, i am tired of my loud atholon system so the GPU and CPU heatsink is built around that idea. So still looking for a decent case with 120mm fans. Thought about Lan-li with a 120mm intake, 120mm exhaust but it's alumium so it might need sound deadening. Another thing is about most cases on the market, i see a bront bezel door, would that block air flow, didn't seem like a very good idea... have you guys seen the new upside down motherboard ATX cases? cool configuration, looks intersting , any thoughts
nice. the 6850 and the p35 is a good combo. with the right cooling you might be able to hit 4Ghz you thought about liquid cooling? are you sure you didnt get the en8600 gts. the 6600 is ancient. I have not seen the upside down mobo cases but I have a case where the PSU is on the bottom instead of the top. I will eventually go to a watercooled set up.....eventually
^good catch, it is the 8600gts, the silent version's heatsinks are HUGE I thought they flipped the motherboard in where the PSUs are on the bottom..guess some did and some didnt, hope my PSU cables are long enough to reach if i go that route... still thinking but a good computer case is crucial to cooling and noises control no i have not thought about liquid cooling yet, never seen it in person so it's a scary idea in my book flipped motherboard LIAN LI PC-V1200Bplus II
I tried the asus 8600 for about 2 weeks. I returned it because I eventually will be going to an SLi setup and I figured it might be difficult finding another one of those in 6-12months so I juts bit the bullet and got the 8800. the asus is a very good graphics card and the passive cooling works really well. Man the heatsink on that thing is huge! as far as a good case try getting something that is very open. these were a few I was going to get Antec 900 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021 The CM Stacker is nice also http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119136 Thermaltake Armor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133154
I am going to using my PC for photo editing and some games when there is time. I bought the 8600gts silent because it was passively cooled, but definitely an upgrade for a 8800gts, in sli you are going to need a good power supply with good cooling. My concern is noise since it is going to be sitting right next to my bed and I want it to be quiet when i do work in my room.
This is caseyfoster on scoobys computer. Im actually putting my hardware to use, i play counter-strike source professionally. Most of it was free from sponsors, its a little outdated but its still a fkn beast. OC'd a E6400 @ 3.6 ghz.
AMD 3000+ nforce4 mobo 1gb patriot nvidia 7800gtx pretty much the only game i ever play now is wc3 lol.
yea dota is so much fun! im using my samsung 19" widescreen monitor... sexy as shit. 2ms response time, 2000:1 contrast ratio.
I have a Dell inspiron 8200 I bought in 2002... I can't even watch my scrubs episodes on itunes b/c it is too much for my poor little computer:rofl::rofl:
yea i play quite a few games. not professionally like you though. I am currently playing Bioshock, Oblivion, Lost Planet, City of Heroes, Battlefield 2. I recently started playing HL2 and FEAR through again for a 2nd time. Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead and Crysis will be here very soon so I will be all over those when they come out. I am not much of a benchmarker but I use 3dmark to gauge improvements after overlcocking. I dont have a sweet ride to mod anymore so I mod the next best thing...my pc.
I am telling you man if you plan to overclock and you want silence go watercooled or get a fan controller. I have a 750 watt psu so i am ok for sli'ing the 8800.
Lets play some counter strike i got scooby_snacks playing counter-strike pretty often now. -caseyfoster
woot..just got the e6550 to 3.01 and is stable running orthos for almost 4 hours. temps are 52C or lower with the Zalman 9700
I bet it gets pretty loud, this is what I'm getting, Frostytech is awesome place for heatsink reviews, enjoy Scythe Mines Revision B Link
I am surprised they dont have the Tuniq Tower review on there. I am returning my Zalman 9700 after I recieve my Tuniq Tower 120 later this week The Zalman is just beautiful though. Honestly it is like looking at a piece of art! The Tuniq is just a HULK. It is a massive cooling tower!! for size comparison that is a 120mm fan inside Tuniq Tower 120 Linky from anandtech comparison of some other heatsinks from anandtech
Well the intercoler i'm getting is also quite large and similarl to , think side of the cd, and cube it. It is 10 degrees lower than OEM heatsink at idle but operates at the same decibel leve, now that is impressive.
Holy shit! Anand from anandtech went to my high school (Enloe H.S. in Raleigh, NC). That kid bought a BMW Z3 as a senior in H.S. and went to NC State. There was an article about him in our local paper and my parents asked why I was not successful like him... Bastard. Last I heard, he bought a Ferrari 360M when his girlfirend broke up with him... Who needs a woman when you have a Ferrari?
yea scythe makes some awesome coolers! the designs of both the mines and the tuniq are very similar. most of the heatpipe tower designs are though. edit/ yea that is one quite cooler! thats crazy
I'm using the Thermalrite Ultra-120 Extreme. It's much cheaper than water cooling and works great. I'll be lapping it and the processor as soon as I pick up some of that new MX2 thermal paste. Anyone else done heatsink lapping?
unless something happened, he got married a couple years ago. Ultra 120 here. Ironically it doesn't do a whole lot better than my stock cooler. :hsugh:
that cooler is badass! its the best out there right now for aircooling. The price is why I didnt get it. I mean come on 65 bucks with no fans..Now if it included fans I would be all over it. I will probably be lapping the Tuniq a few weeks after getting it. I want to test it thoroughly before and after lapping. are you overclocked? if so you should see some amazing temp drops with that cooler. are you running any fans with it? I would run 2 Silverstone FM121's.
That's definately not right, overclocked or not. Tried remounting it? For me $65 is cheaper than $200+ for watercooling. And in a recent test it outperformed the "all in 1" water cooling kit from swiftec. Not including a fan is the right choice for it's market. Some will want silence, others big air flow. I went with a 114cfm fan and tuned the bios so it's quiet for normal stuff, but kicks in for gaming. I went from mild OC and 65+ temps to big OC and <55 temps.
