Hey there, just a quick hello. I'm a 2-year member of NASIOC and other Subaru forums (since before I bought my '05 OBS in June '05), but I'm going to be moving to the Atlanta area in March so I figured joining the forum would be a good idea. My wife and I are looking to buy our first home in the suburbs to the west of ATL, somewhere in or around Marietta. She's going to be going to Life University for chiropractic, and I currently work at IBM and will transfer to the IBM office on Northside Pkwy. I'm excited about the move - we've both lived our whole lives in the Boston area in MA, so this will be quite the change. I hear life's a little more relaxed down there, so that should be nice. I'm glad tho that the AWD goodness of our Scoobies isn't seen as unnecessary down there where 8" of snow isn't considered a "dusting" as it is up here. That's all for now. Hope to get in on some meets and become active in the Scoob community. With the wifey in med school, god knows I'll have the spare time.
Oh, yea. Almost forgot the obligatory pics of the ride: And here's me with my Scoob, hard at work like I like her to be
years ago there was some bad stuff with the financial aid going on and the school lost all their credidations. i don't know what their status is now, but i hope its better. see ya soon
Hello there, I like the Kayaks, although I've only sea kayaked. If you're going to be working at the Northside IBM location you shouldn't be too far from a Chattahoochee River park area if you just want to paddle a bit. http://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/unitdirections.htm specifically this one: http://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/interstatenorth.htm
Yea, we had heard that there were some issues about 10 years ago, but things are better. The president of Palmer University (#1 chiropractic school in the US) came over to Life and really got things in much better shape. Life is now in the top 3 for chiropractic. We know a few chiropractors up here that went there and they're doing quite well. Oh, and thanks, baddriver, for the links to the parks info. I saw that we were going to be close to the Chattahoochee - definitely psyched to get out there on the river.
