Without spending $190 or getting arrested?
I don't necessarily want to compete, I just want to use the car.

Do I want too much....? :hs:

Pay the 190 because you can open it up ALL day. You could do it late at night but just taking your chances and a ticket wide open will cost you easily 190.

It's true though... easy to open it up out that way, although when I drove there I was in a '92 4cyl. accord (i think they were all still 4bangers... anyways). I would go ~100 from 985 split to friendship rd. to work almost EVERY morning, cause i hit snooze EVERY morning. I also topped the speedo out on that 225k miles+ accord on 85 on the way to Greenville, I didn't see a single police car on the ENTIRE trip.

oh, the speedo was 130, I was greatly impressed with how good the car felt... makes me wonder what it's like to be in an s2k. I do think that's when a rod started knocking though..... man I miss that car. was a down payment on my wrx though, so it lives on!

P.S. this story may or may not be true, people make up a lot of stuff online...

there is no place you can go that will give you the same feeling and experience as going to a track and taking your car and yourself to the limit.

Commerce only only cost 20 to race. If you need twisties sign up for the Subarua Challenge. Total cost to satisfy both needs is 55.

Yea but this is b/c the feds say you have to have a speed limit sign. It can't say unlimited. A buddy of mine just got back and he was doing 80 on the interstate and was passed by everyone. Even an old lady flipped him the bird. I hear that they don't give speeding tickets, they give enviromental impact ($25) tickets for excessive fuel usage at those speeds.

Yeah I was out in Montana by Glacier National Park for the fourth of July... and I saw 3 Police the entire week I was there. You could drive as fast as you wanted... until you got caught behind an RV doing 15 under the speed limit. :hsnono:

I was so pissed I did not have my WRX... V6 Rental Hyundai Sonata FTW!!!

Friday and Saturday nights, according to many sportbikers, on any interstate inside or on the perimeter is wide open.

please track your car to find out how hard it is to slow down quickly from speeds over 120.

Now that I've said that, 575 North of Canton has a 3 mile straight, but wait until nobody is around so you'll only kill yourself if something happens. You'd better believe I'll follow you and open a can of whoop ass if you pass me going 150... Risking your own life is cool. Risking someone else's is not. I've topped out every car I've owned there except the STi and my old 3000GT VR4.

I brought up the 985 thing (jokingly) because a bunch of importatlanta ricers were meeting at the mall of ga and racing on that stretch. Some unknown in a STI rear ended a rsx/integra (cant remember, dont really care) and caused a crash.

CN: Guy in STI crashes cars on 985, gives local WRX owners bad name, ect...dont do it

Less than an Audi A4 and more than a VR6 GTi.

and more than a Suzuki SV and significantly less than a VTR1000.

Thanks for all the replies, but I think many of you misunderstood my post.

Tracks are very nice, and preferable actually, but paying 190 dollars is just not an option. 50 ish I can do.

Obliviously roads are NOT an option because I do not want to break the law. Just so we're clear.

in south ga I noticed alot of side roads that were dirt. I was so tempted to hit em up, but I wasn't in my car. Maybe one weekend we can ride down there.

Besides that, i found a unpaved parking lot along the river I did some drifting in, it was pretty easy, just put it in first and did some power-overs, the rear end broke loose easily on the gravel.

Save it for the track. It just isn't worth the risk to speed excessively on public roads. Drag strips and auto-x are inexpensive. Big tickets, increased insurance bills, medical bills, loss of work from being in jail are not.
