Today for some odd reason all of my gears locked up on me and i couldn't get them into gear unless the car was off. When I did turn back on the car and tried to move the car bucked a bit. Can someone give me an answer?? Not sure if this was the right place to post.... Sry guys And yes im a Noob so make all the mockery u want as long as i get some reason of why it happened thanks C~King
How old is the car? Have you changed tranny fluid? Have you changed the clutch? Did you "do anything" to the tranny like a hard launch or something? BTW, there is no NOOB mockery here, we save that for the national forums. I will, however mock you for that fact that your profile says you are from "Codd" county! heheh
More details please. Model, year, mileage would be helpful. From what you posted, my guess is clutch problem (more likely) or catastrophic tranny issue.
If the car only goes into gear w/out the engine running and tries to move when started in gear then there is a problem w/the clutch not disengageing. Could be hydraulic or mechanical. I work in Marietta and could possibly come check it for you. Shoot me a pm if interested.
I launched it in first and didn't go to second but when i stopped was when i couldn't get into first again. my car is very new only about 5 months old its a 2007 WRX and has 2500 miles. thanks for the replies
dude u only got 2,500 on a 5 month old car? I'm on my 3rd payment and I just hit 10k..lol..and its an 07 as well..damn..oh well..cars are meant to be driven!
Stripped gears are not covered under warranty, neither are broken shift forks. See my thread on manual transmission warranty.
Listen Very carefully, you have never launched the car, this is youre commuter car. Ok now have youre mom take it in for warranty work. Matt
Hears the thing now its running just fine and i don't feel a different. So hears the Qs do you think there is something diff wrong should i get it checked out?? Thanks again
how are stripped gears and broken shift forks not covered under warrranty if someone didnt abuse the car? I am sure there are "defects" from time to time...yes?
You are correct, hes just repeating the same B.S. that subaru feeds all the techs. There is no such thing as a straight warranty denial. Subaru is just itching for a lawsuit with statements like that.
Well 2morrow im getting my Oil Change which comes with a multi point inspection well that inspection tell me if anything is wrong or do i need to tell them to look at something more specific?? Thanks again for the replies
I think that if you honestly haven't been beating on the car you should give them a chance to fix it. If they won't fix it I suggest you find a good attorney, I have one thats working on a problem for me, maybe he can recommend someone for youre issue. If you need it. Matt
