I'm looking for a shop that'll do it for me. Cut and install a Spec C Roof Vent for a reasonable price.

You might know, I'm in Iraq for about another 10, 11 months so I can't do any of the work myself. And I'm thinking surely some sunroof place or something like it can do this for me.

My pops said he'd take the car in and drop it off for me to get it done, but I want to make sure it's gonna be in a place where they wont blow smoke at him or do it wrong.

    Any Suggestions?...

    Thanks.

420 had it done by a sunroof guy IIRC. Looks great on the WRB by the way

yea he said it only costs 100 to get the whole cut. If you have the vent kit you can do it yourself, its pretty much just put it together. I don't know how much your dad is willing to do though

I've always wanted one, but I'm not about to do it wrong. If I can find someone to do it right I'll get one.

    What he said.

I called the first sunroof place I came across in the phonebook for my area. Guy came out to my apartment, looked at the scoop and some pics I found on the internet for about 20 minutes. Drilled a pilot hole and was done within an hour. Cost about $100.

There are royalties that have to be paid to me, if you are seriously going to do it. Just wanted to let you know up front.

did he do the headliner and everything else too? Or just charge you to cut a hole? I'm not a moron, but I want someone else to be liable if my roof rusts a year from now.

He did it all. The headline just needed to be cut with a utility knife. Nothing special there.

That write up is good, but you don't have to completely remove the head liner like he did. Just drop it a little bit so you can get in there with a screwdriver to remove the plate that the map lights mount to.

Like I said, after watching the guy do the install, it was pretty damn easy. All you need is the right tools.

    anyone up for group order?

I'm thinking about getting one soon and I shot emails to few bodyshops to get estimates/quotes.

    Oh Snap!!

Man. Please post whatever estimates you get for me. That'd be great and helpful.

As far as a group buy goes... I got mine through SoFlaAutosports so I'm not sure about how soon he could make that happen. It's taking a little while to get mine cause it had to be painted and sh!t. Can't hurt to ask though....

If you are talking about the rally scoop that goes over the vent, they are about $110 from primitive racing. The vent itself, if you go with the Spec C vent like mine, is about $390 to $415 thru rallispec.com

They now offer a Group N vent (without the interior trim pieces), or a Road vent (With the interior trim pieces. If you buy from Rallispec, the vent comes prepainted factory colors, with some exceptions.

Yeah! I paid aroun $400. for mine. It wasn't an easy choice but I know I'm going to love the vent and the Spec C look.

I'm gonna own those other bishes!! Or not whichever....

You should get the scoop too. I had it on my 02 WRX, but without a functional vent, so I was a big ricer.

It looked really good, just didn't want to do it on this one. If you don't do it, I may have to rethink adding the scoop, to keep my uniqueness.

Yeah well, it comes with everything. That is of course if it ever comes. Damn JDM parts.... It'll be worth it when I finally get to enjoy it.

wow, jdmparts is usually pretty good with shipping. When we ordered the sti car thing for zander (weapon wrx) it came within about 2 weeks. I was shocked that it came so quick

    That is pretty cool. ^^

But man.... doesnt anybody know of a good solid shop to recommend for me?

I need to be able to send my dads up there with the car and the parts and not have to worry that they're going to screw it up or take advantage of me just because I'm deployed in Iraq right now. Cuz it'd be nice to get this shit done now instead of when I get back.

    Ha ha. That's awesome man.

Seriously if you want one of these you should hit up Kenny at SoFla Motorsports because he SHOULD have an extra one already painted in our color blue (not WRB by the way if you didn't know) because there was some kind of shipping thing with UPS, so he actually just painted me a new one and mailed it out to me.

I totally recommend the dude... even though he doesn't seem to have an add on this site anymore... thats strange. Anyway, do it mang. I know I'm gonna love mine. Oh and I get back in August of 08, which is like for friking ever from now it seems...
