A few weekends ago I was on the way to the DJ Tiesto show and stopped at the hotel where some of my friends were. I had to go around the back and I saw a puddle. It looked kinda deep (5 inches was my guess) but ended up being more like 1.5 feet maybe more deep. I drove through it and when I came out of it I believe all of the water rushing out of my fender well pulled the splash guard out of my wheel well. It also poped out my fog light cover. I put everything back, so I thought. Apparently I didn't put the splash guard back on good enough or it had broken tabs because when I got back it was gone. Some of the tabs are kinda bent but I can bent them back... Does anyone know where I can get one of these other than the dealer? I'm guessing they will be expensive there... Anyone take theirs off and not want it? I'm not sure if STi is different from WRX in that aspect...
they are not too expensive as I havev replaced both of mine. I would just drop the car off at Classic Subaru and they took care everything even though I did supply parts from another dealership (which wasn't a smart move). It's the clips that are VERY expensive and adds up quickly when you buy a bunch. Classic Subaru even cut the splash guards to fit my FMIC, and the body shop did a much better job cutting and fitting the plastic than what I had on the car.
Thats cool. I won't take my car anywhere, don't trust anyone to touch it, so I just need the parts. Do you remember about how much they were each? And for the clips?
I bought mine at Classic for I believe $45... one side is little more expensive than the other side IIRC.
I order 'ALL' my parts from them. Talk with Tristian. Stand up guy and shipping takes 2-3 days. They are in PA.
thank you for a great source, I'm ready to order a rear diffuser from them, i suppose it is better to order over the phone? This is defnitely place to go if reputable like Coolrex says, prices are better even with shipping
I usually email Tristian and he processes or for me but if you call it will be faster. They also take Paypal too. Just don't order anything very fragile. A friend kept ordering fenders and returned them twice because the UPS monkeys kept denting the fender.
i ripped mine off and ordered it from subarugenuineparts.com it was like $30 and change. then buy a few crappy plastic screws from an autoparts store and your set!!!
Cost more from them since shipping is all the way in Oregon. Tristian at thekingofparts is in PA on the east coast!
Awesome! Thanks for the great sources guys. I'll get this soon... Maybe order my splitter and a couple other goodies while I'm at it.
Both of ours are gone, within a week of each other The tall 275/40-17 tires wore big holes in the middle of them.
Ordered my fender liners yesterday at 4:30PM and they are on the UPS truck now. Already got the tracking info from Tristian and scheduled delivery is Friday! Can't beat that.
