if the noise goes away when you push the clutch in, then its something clutch/drivetrain related.

    HELP!

This morning i heard a slight ticking noise, but couldnt figure out where it was coming from. It only did it at low rpm in 1st or 2nd gear, like when i let the car coast. But when i push the clutch in, nothing. Revving it in neutral nothing.

I just got back in the car and i can hear the ticking a little louder...same situation, but also in higher rpms, but its hard to hear over my car. Cant tell if i hear it at idle or not as my car is too loud....hopefully its not the motor on its way out! :eek:hnoes:

The car is cooling off again then im going to check the oil. I check it everytime i fill up, and its been less than 2500 miles since the last change, so i dunno whats up.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Make sure you don't exceed 88 miles an hour or try disconnecting your flux capacitor.

Hey man, if you remember correctly at last thursday's sonic meet there was a guy in an SR20 turbo sentra whose motor was making that same noise. I asked him if it was a belt (since it was a distinct ticking mixed with a slight squeak) and he said it was the aftermarket clutch. He said it was normal. It sounded pretty icky. So maybe it's nothing?

After I got my clutch and flywheel in, it started making a nasty rattling sound. Happens only when idling in neutral, especially when the AC is on. Goes away when the pedal is depressed. I'm not really worried about it.

I am njot worried about mine eitrher. It goes away when I press the gas (or I cant hear it over my exhaust) and when the clutch is pressed. And it seems to only happen in the cold.

well, bad news. Just had will check out the car, excessive rod bearing clearance. Time for a new shortblock. :(

:wtc: hopefully mine isnt the same situation. We should meet up before you get it replaced and compare noises. Ive also noticed mine vibrates when i am going up hill at low speeds. Im thinking tranny mount? It feels like the motor is shifting harder than normal. But I have no idea what the ticking is.

So upon further inspection of mine...

My motor doesn't make weird noises, its actually my exhaust rattling against the tranny cuz the previous owner stripped the bolt holding the dp still.

I do still hear hard vibrations in lower gears going up hills though. I think thats just the 6 puck though. The damn thing loves high rpms

not really....99% of the time its an oil starvation event of some kind. i promise you the other bearings in the engine will show that.

10.5:1 at WOT is best on pump gas.
