yesterday i looked in my engine compartment fuse box to get my fuse puller and i noticed on the fuse lid that on the diagram it had a FWD listing on it,ive heard that there was a fwd fuse before but i had never looked, but i looked into my fuse box and there is nothing where it lists it..is this normal?
^what? If you install the fuse it disables the lock up plates in the ATs. If you have a Direct 4EAT (D4EAT) then you still have 'AWD' but you have a constant 45/55 split thru the planetary center diff. All WRX's have a D4EAT if they are AT equipped. Most foresters from 2004+ have it, all the VDC equipped outbacks have it. Most other Legacy/Outbacks have it...depends on what trim level you got tho. Otherwise, if its not a D4EAT...if you install the fuse you are 100% front wheel drive as the design of the 'center diff' is just a clutch pack that when fluid pressure is applied you get 'lock up' that brings the split from 100/0 all the way to 50/50.
so, i have an AT, if i pull it .. itll be a FWD? i thought the wrxs had a diff at than all other subarus?
