exhaust gases right on the firewall for one? and what do you mean by cold pipe.. im sure that would almsot fup the readings and cause a lean/rich condition

your maf voltage will be a lot higher if you locate it in your cold side charge pipe, so it will need new scaling. Depending on the diameter of the piping, you might hit max voltage on the MAF which is dangerous.

    Is it bad, not really
Is it reliable, not sure, your idle might suffer but you could have a more accurate reading of how much air is entering into your throttle body
Is it worth the trouble on the VF39, probably not
Most importantly, will it gain power? minimal at best

who is goin to reconfigure the MAF voltage (tune)

well i was thinking about tapering my current cold charge pipe which is 3". Yea i agree not worth the trouble for VF39, but I might be upgrading to a FP Green or Red in future. My goal isn't high 350-400 i'll be happy and every small mod that might help me get there won't go overlooked. I will be going to a shop to get tuned..not gonna run around like that lol. I am sure some people here might be running a similar setup. Found this http://www.perrinperformance.com/products/show/294/Blow-thru-Boost-Tube?category=3&model=2
this won't be a daily mod...prbly a separate map for strip or when it's needed:cool:

Also, you might want to consider a catch can or AOS of some sort.

It's called a blow thru setup and it will work but you will need to have piping made, unless you have a perrin intercooler their pipe won't fit youre kit.

So now you need to have a cutsom intercooler pipe made and you are going to need the flange for the Maf or you have to buy a perrin big maf and cut the flange off. It's going to need to be retuned etc... and then honestly its probally not going to run right and if it does theres always the chance that the maf will fail because it wasn't designed to deal with all that heat and pressure.

I would stick with a perrin big maf or a cobb maf in their normal location.

    Good luck

    yes yes

if i go Perrin blow thru, i'll sell my greddy setup and go Perrin intercooler setup or see how much trouble it is gonna be to get it running right with custom piping on gerddy setup. Which ever is more cost efficent and gives less trouble...i'll prbly go with that. What's the diameter of perrin big maf...2.75"?

If you are going to go through that much trouble, you might as well get an AEM or a HYDRA. Then you don't have to run a maf at all.

Better yet get yourself a Hydra and ditch the MAF entirely.

I do NOT like the blow-through setups... They don't work well. Hydra or AEM FTW...

Unfortunately he lives in Gwinnett...and requires emissions testing.

Sonny needs to get a PO BOX FTW.

I need a emission hook up FTW. Well i'll be dumping UTEC soon....so i guess no no to AP and Welcome to HYDRA or AEM.

They'll have to hook up to another 02 at the same time while your car is being 'tested' in order to make it work.

Too big of a risk for most to do...aka large fines, loosing inspection license and jail time.

You can't do an emmissions hook up with a standalone ECU. If you are going to continue emmissions, you will have to stay with the stock ECU with an AP or Ecutek flash.

yea because most residents of that county have 6 cars that don't run and just sit broke down on the lawn.
