Santa Run 100, Cannon Ball, GumBall..street racing?

I can careless that the thread got locked...don't know why? But why was i hearing this to be considered street racing? On the site it stated fastest times to final location gets a prize.....no where it said street racing. You can post fast times by taking short cuts....streets others don't know. I would also like to know how people entering the run are considered "Ricers", also define ricer for me? Idea isn't about going all out.....idea is about having fun. I'd be down any day to drive 100 miles with some of my friends and fellow members.

 

I can see how people would consider it street racing. perhaps us as wrxatl members could come up w/ something similar and donate to toys for tots...? I'd def be down for something like that...just no "best times" or whatever the site said..

Since this is a timed event taking place on public roads, from WRXatlanta's point of view, it is street racing. I wouldn't be surprised if it is considered street racing by law enforcement officials as well. Standing by our views on such matters, this event will not be supported by WRXatlanta. We do not want to have any association with potential mishaps that could occur.

Since there is obvious interest in a cruise, WRXatlanta will organize one in the near future. Our event will not be timed.
