    Mods:
    2.5 block (Mahle pistons)
v6 Wrx heads (same as v7 USDM but ported with oversized valves)
    v5 STi spec c cams.
    UR T3/T04s kit
    Helix 820 injectors
    Ecutek
    TGV Deletes
    Perrin Big Maf
    eBay FMIC
    SMC Meth Injection (m10 nozzle)

The stock wrx heads dyno was with c16 and meth and 29 lbs of boost.

The other run was with 93 and meth at 26-27 pounds of boost.

The cams made a huge difference at redline. Of course I lost some low end but at the track with the JDM 6 speed I never drop below 5500 rpms when I shift.

I trapped 118 with the old setup so my current set up should be good for quite a bit more speed.

Hell yeah man. I think this is a testament to what a bottleneck the stock heads/cams really are. Nice looking curves, throw some 116 in there with meth and see even more gains.

Sweet graph... next time we will put some race gas in there and turn it up. We were really limited on octane with this tune. I tuned it at 1.8bar which 26.4psi of boost so there is alot left in it by just turning it up a few pounds.

Ehh, as much as I want to call my car an STI there's a lot more to STIs than just the motor, transmission, and suspension.

Now thats modding a subaru like a honda if I've ever seen it. Mixing and matching parts. You should copy that post along with your dyno in the Subaru whp thread. Its just like the honda guys mixing and matching vtec heads to non-vtec blocks, interchanging cams, pistons, cranks, etc and ending up with a nice budget build.

This is exactly what the subaru community needs; people willing to try new combos to make power.

Mike - Did you get a pull before tuning to see how well the #'s were on your self tune?

Very nice man! Cams make all the difference. Can you feel the low end tq loss or do you forget it when you redline? I think the answer is obvious.

Bizzump.....Mike you said the following are your head specs.

v6 Wrx heads (same as v7 USDM but ported with oversized valves)
    v5 STi spec c cams.

Now when you say ported with oversized valves....is that from the factory like that or is that all aftermarket?

    Valves and porting were aftermarket.

cams are STi Version 6 Type R. Same with heads.

I was told by the previous owner of the heads/cams who purchased them from a local person to where I am now (and he confirmed) that the heads and cams came off a Version 6 STi Type R.

Then the heads were super custom-y0!! ported and really big valves installed to very incorrect clearances....which was later corrected before being installed on LiquidForce's engine.

Can a mod please change the title to "got tuned a year and a half ago"

You uncle installed a helicoil and cleaned up a cam journal for me. Some serious debris had gone through the heads due to the incorrect clearances Will mentioned.
