I have the pioneer avic-z1 and the newer model is now out the z2 but I loved it..no nav dvds needed it was all updated by satellite on a hard drive. you could also import songs from a cd...if you get the nav traffic it will tell you when traffic is bad and will offer to re-route u to your destination...price on the device was about 2k I believe...absolutely worth it...plus it had that flush facotry look (double din) hope this helps!.....dang I feel stupid..sorry if price is an issue may have to just get a tom tom..but I'm sure those are pretty useful!

ha yea I feel the same..plus it would just seem annoying...but $ being an issue may be a little difficult check crutchfield.com for units and see if you can find some info there..not prices cuz they are usually pretty high..or cnet.com...that site has everything as far as reviews...

pioneer and alpine make some sick nav systems. if your on a budget you should also check out best buy and look at their dual brand... (its basically the best buy brand) they usually have the same features and are a lot cheaper, and they have suprisingly good quality, plus you can get the sweet four year warranty too... good luck on your purchase!

Car cpu's can be a royal pain. I DON"T recommend them at all.

the Z2 is sweet but we have been selling the hell out of the Kenwood 7100 D-din. It's my favorite right now and it has a ton of awesome features, it even has customizeable external switches you can use to turn on anything in your car ( nos, boost controllers, hazards etc.) by pressing a button on the touchscreen. And it uses the Garmin software which is sweet. Retail is usually around 1500.
