yeah greg got in a wreck. but from what i read, everyone is ok. no one was at fault, as he was doing the speed limit. he apparently just hit a wet spot in a turn and lost the rear end.
sorry to hear that...keep it safe on the streets guys, we dont want any more accidents (especially not to nice cars like Greg's)
ok... It rained this morning, and I went through a turn that had a crest right at the apex. As soon as I got mid-corner, I hydroplaned and the rear end slid out on me. I counter steered and tried to power out of it, but all for tires just spun since it was wet. I ended up hitting a van coming the opposite direction. My passenger front corner hit his driver side front corner. After impact, the rear of the car got sling shot and hit the side of the van again. I'm not sure if it is totalled or not, there is some minor frame damage in the front though... Luckily we were both ok, and the people in the other car were ok. No tickets were issued since I was doing the speed limit and it just stepped out on me.
Ouch Greg. Glad everyone came out of that safe! Did the air bags deploy? They might not total it if they didn't.
hahaha I forgot those were yours at one time lol No, my airbags didn't deploy, but the other vehicle had the driverside curtain airbags deploy.
If it gets fixed, it gets fixed... If not, I'll just make the best of it, and start my next project that I had planned for January. FD RX-7 LS1 FTW
News travels fast man. Whatever happens you know I'll help you out, let me know if you need a ride somewhere, even though it will take me like 45 minutes to get out there to u in the boonies, give me a couple hours notice!
damn bro hate to see her hurt so bad..like everyone else says..glad you and all other people involved are ok. It is always good to know you're in a safe car though when driving a Subaru!
Thans man, I just found out that my insurance won't pay for a rental car, so I'm pretty much extremely pissed right now. So I'll be paying $25 a day for this Expedition, plus the horrible gas mileage. Hopefully the get it all figured out SOON! Thanks for the offter though
Oy! Looks bad but glad to see you're safe and sound. I'd like to buy the wheels back and the drivers side headlight
I'm glad nobody is hurt! I hope if you do replace your car that you'll enjoy it in a safe and controlled environment.....
damn man that sucks. I'm glad u are ok and hope that everything turns out ok. let me know if u need anything bro.
i think we are all just glad you guys are ok, as my mom told me you can get a new car, i cant replace you. yet another reason i drive a subaru yay 5 star crash test rating!
Sorry to hear about the wreck, but as everyone, I'm glad nobody got hurt. Care to post up your suspension setup? My WRX had the Flex's and 26mm swaybars when I wrecked it. It handled awesome as long as it was under control, just as my STi does now. However, I do believe that modified suspensions can be less forgiving in bad situations.
i think he had the helix dna coilovers, can't remember his other suspension goodies. yeah, with allstate the only way i could get a rental car was if the other driver was at fault. if it was my fault (which my wreck was) or no one's fault, then no money for rental cars. hope its not totalled, although in retrospect i really wish they had just totalled mine to begin with. but if they do, an LS1 RX7 would be JDM mad tyte yo!
Yeah those pics are sad to look at!!! Call me tonight if your not busy! Glad you guys are ok let me know if I can help out!
It was the Helix DNA coilovers. Rear was full 1 click from full stiff, and front was 1 click from full soft. 27mm Whiteline rear and 24mm whiteline front Whiteline spherical endlinks front and rear When its dry, its like you said, when it breas away, if breaks harsh.
To echo everyone else, very glad you're ok my friend. Also glad that you don't have to deal with the hassle and expense of a ticket and court on top of what you're already going to have to deal with. Good luck!
Be sure to talk to Charlie at Mazcare in Marietta if you havn't already. They do FC LS1 swaps. I think they have done FD swaps, but I am not sure.
Wow!!! I'll let the autocross experts chime in but your setup seems MUCH stiffer in the rear making it very prone to snap oversteer. I'm not surprised that when you lost the rear end, you lost it completely.
Ouch man! Hey I know of a 500hp LS1 swapped FC with a 6 speed for sale for a killer price if you are interested!
ok, well I just talked to them and it went to Jim Hardman in Gainesville to be fixed. The total came out to $10,000 in damage, but they ended up calling me back to say that it broke the sprocket off of the exhaust cam, so its now being sent to Niel at Subaru of Gwinnett to see what damage that they can find... The price is climbing up there, so it could be classified as a total loss....
PM me some info I love the look of the FCs also. As long as the price is the same, if not lower, than what my budget is to build one, I'll get it.
