A couple months back I took a risk and had my Tint done by a local ghetto shop... bad move. It actually doesn't look bad from 5-10 ft back, but up close you can see the hundreds of little bubbles. Recently I had my right window shattered in a break-in and have decided to just get the whole car redone. So, has anybody local had their tinted removed successfully without damage to the rear defrost strips? If so where? Or, are there any techniques to remove tiny bubble in 2 month old tint?
http://www.tintdude.com/remove.html see if this helps...may want to consult some places that you are considering to have do your windows..they may able to remove and re-do your windows..
http://www.solarworksatlanta.com/aboutus.htm Just had my 2008 Impreza 5door tinted a few weeks ago. Ask for Joe. Solarworks - Roswell 11230 Alpharetta Highway Suite 111 Roswell, GA 30076 770-664-4100 info@solarworksatlanta.com
Tint Genius adds a little extra on the price if they have to remove tint. Honestly, it is a complete PITA, so if it costs an extra $50 or so to have it removed, I would just pay it.
i removed mine from my '02 in about 15 minutes. piece of cake. just do it slowly. and since you said you had bubbles, i doubt its stuck on the defroster strips very well, or well enough to damage them anyways.
