im wasnt sure where to put this, but since most of the ?'s are on the motor and the performance of it, i thought this would be good to go.

i went by and looked at a 2004 sti for sale today, the question's are miles, the car has 125k on the dial. the car also has an after market exhaust, very loud. but my concern was the black suit on the bumper above the tale pipe, i think the guy did an exhaust kit but forgot to get any type of engine management, looks like its running to rice. also feels like it may need a tune up.

i wanted to get your thoughts on the car, a friend asked me to go look at it. and since im not sure on the car from here, i was hoping you guys could help.

if i posted this in the wrong section, my bad.

    thanks for the help.

thats not a bad price. If its lasted that long and runs strong, its a good deal.

    ESPECIALLY if its PSM.

However, it IS an 04...so it has its little problems.

i got to say a few things about the model. i drive a 2002 wrx, and to me, the seats are no where near as fitting as mine. you set in my fronts, and it just feels like your setting in the seats, and on the 2004 model i drove today, your setting more on them then in them. and then the hood, the scoop is huge, like 3 times the size of mine, sti vs. wrx tho, but still. and the shape isnt for me ether, mine looks lower in the middle with both sides coming up for the bugeyed headlights, but the 04' looks higher in the center.

i love my front end, but if any other, the 06' rock out hard. love the raptor front end.

Steering rack bushings, the interior overall is not as quality as the 05+, but if taken care of its fine.

The 5x100 press in hubs are troublesome with track use.

    Those are the major-little things.

everything else is just the 04 vs 05 stuff.

If they made an 05 STi with the manual HVAC instead of the auto, I'd own it.

Since the 04 sti has the semi-auto...I'll still pass on it.

Lol, the fact that the car has a thermostat is the only deterrent keeping you from buying it? Wow.

hey Will, i did have some noise from the front sounding like popping, when turning the wheel at stop and idle. i thought something with steering, you may be confirming that tho.
