dude your mom is a sellout..... You get to drive when you can beat me at an autox edit you are my favorite mod Brett <3
Nice car. I love the way they drive, I almost bought one but I liked the turbo and practicality of the wrx more so I bought it instead. Plus I haven't had an awd car yet so I wanted to try it out. What year is it? Didn't they make the ecu more aggressive or something in 02/03's?
The car belonged to the current national A stock champ. It came with DA custom valved penske shocks and three sets of wheels/tires plus a tire trailer. I won't say how much faster Jason is then me because it's embarrassing . The car is all ready to go, shocks settings are tuned and the setup is complete. Everything on the car has been replaced (diff, bearings etc).
It is an '01, which is the almost the same as the '00. For '02, they added a glass window in the soft top, made the rear suspension a little softer, and modified the fueling in the ECU a little bit, netting a couple of HP at the very top. The '00-'01 are the lightest years for the car. The car has minimal mods, big ass 32mm solid front swaybar, penske double adjustable shocks and a mugen dual titanium exhaust.
mugen...drool, s2000 projectors...Alex and I might have some ideas for them tell me you guys didn't replace the STi
We will be getting rid of the STi shortly. Since I have a company car for DDing I have no need for my STi anymore and then I wouldn't have car payments anymore (= more money for tires). My STi and I have good memories but I think it's time to say good bye.
ALWAYS wanted an S2000. Should be a great track car. keep us updated on the build, as i'm sure its not gonna stay as is very long
:rofl: This isn't another attempt by Brian to build a Caterham, is it? If the S2000 had a key controlled passenger airbag, I too would own one!:bigthumb:
No the S2k is in my name and I will be campaigning it in atleast two national tours, doublex, and solo nationals this year.
awesome car! I'm glad it is already set up for A stock. Good luck this year. look at all of those Hondas in your driveway!
The problem is its a sensor, not a switch that disables the airbag. I just didn't trust it enough to have my daughter in the passenger seat and not know 100% that the bag was disabled...
I am working now to put the car back to stock, then we will put it up for sale on various forums, CL, Autotrader, etc. -- Brian
crapo! last night I had a dream that i bought an S2000 too! It was yellow and I paid $27,000. I started fighting with the salesman after I signed the papers. No more drugs before bed
That's an easy fix....pull the thing out! I will never have an airbag on my car again....at least on the drivers side anyways. The one in my Honda almost killed me when it threw my head backwards.
Mine saved me in my previous Miata, at least from major cosmetic surgery as I my head was heading for the steering wheel...
Did ya have your seat belt on? NM I've driven a Miata and that steering wheel is close to begin with.
Consider yourself lucky that you can fit in it. I wanted one but my knee hit the underside of steering column during clutch release. Damn those things are tight for anyone over 6 ft tall. And I'm a honda fan too. I still have a '92 GSR. V-tech for life.
