1st question there is 5 maps loaded 2 of them are the cobb stage 2 maps (I think) the other 2 looks like the previous cars protunes, and there is one that says "married stock mod" what does that mean?

2nd question can I or is there a way to delete the other maps? My car is stock other than a cat-back. Or can I run Stage 2 with out a DP?

3rd question how can I load a new map to the ap? I need the cobb ofts stage 1 and I downloaded everything off there site but it looks like its only for the Version 2 AP and or I will need the cd software for it to load on the AP. Do I?

    Thanks!!

    1. Download the map manager software or use your install CD.

    2. Once you have the map manager software downloaded and installed on your computer download the newer Stg 1 base map.

    3. Import the new map to your map manager application.

    4. Connect your AP to the computer via the serial cable, and plug it into its power source.

    5. Then select sync with pc on the AP menu.

    6. Once sync'd your map manager software on the computer will show a list of maps on the AP. You can now delete the old map and load your newly downloaded Stg 1 map.

    7. Close the Map manager program and then unplug the power to the AP before disconnecting the serial.

    8. Connect the OBD cable to the AP and plug it into the OBD port located under the steering colum.

    9. Lastly connect the two Green Test connectors located under the driver side dash. You will need to get down under there and look for them if your not familiar with where they are.

    10. Turn the key on and Choose the newly downloaded map to load as a base map

    11. Wait for it to load to the car, be sure to not touch the key as this is the most critical part.

    12. once done loading dissconect the green test connectors and reset the ecu using the Ap

    13. Turn car off for about 15 seconds before restarting.

    14. Once you restart the car it will take a few seconds as the ecu relearns the cam and crank signals. Its very important you keep cranking the car and do not stop before it starts. Also do not touch the gas pedal for the first minute after it starts.

How do I get the AP itself into sync mode? I connected it to my laptop but nothing happened it asking if the AP is in Sync mode? There is no menu it goes straight to the maps.

The AP should come up with:

    Change Maps
    Show Maps
    RealTime Boost
    Code Reader
    Change Base Map
    Sync to PC
    Revert to Stock

press the down arrow to Sync with PC...

As soon as I plug it in to the pc and power source it goes to a screen that says "please choose a new map to flash to ecu- press ok/cancel"

    Fool. ;)

Oh, yeah, I forgot that when they are unmarried you need to hold the up and down arrows as you plug it in to get it to go to sync with PC... I never understood why they did that, and the V2's don't have anything like it...

Sorry. Hold the Up and Down buttons as you plug it in, then it will come up with the new screen...

We went trough 6th gear and the hood actually popped open :eek3: On the last run it confirmed it Stage 1 makes a difference I noticed that the boost gauge was reading @ 16PSI when is usually at 15PSI

You Oneiguy and King need to!

I had a nice lil convo with Scott about catless downpipes and the dreaded boost creep. He said that with catted dp's you can still get boost creep but its not as likely so I need a catted dp. thanks though! :wavey:

I am Stage 1 via an APv1 on my '02. As far as I know the AP still has the original maps it came with on it(I think bought in 2005). Is there a newer and improved Stage 1 map that I should be running?

Also, it is married, can I download maps to it in the married state?

Check Cobbtuning.com for new map updates. There may be a newer map release for your mods.
