This weekend I am going to start the long awaited Time Trial season. The car is prepared to run the TTA class - Mike helped me get the car ready and Scott tuned it to run on the limit of 362HP which keeps me in TTA (instead of running in TTS with the monsters).

We are running the new CMP track with the modified turn 12 and 13 this weekend.

Planning to learn the tactics of running a time trial event where what you're looking for is that 1 smooth, flying lap.

The rule book says I can run 295 tires with no penalty - but I decided to take it slow before investing in new wheel hubs and tires. so it is 225's RE01's for now.

Planning to have fun with my 04 "Sonic" (my kids call it after Sonic the hedgehog) - wish me luck :bigthumb:

I'm jealous! Good luck. Be sure and post up about it this season. I hope to do a couple of NASA HPDE's this year. I'm shooting for RA in March as my first one...haven't been to the track since last July...I'm having withdrawals.

You can not run in TTA period you have way to many points. With an upgraded turbo you have to email the TT chair and they will look at your power to weight ratio and decide if you are running in TTS TTR or TTU.

Again you can not run in TTA...go get retuned for more power

Lol. If you are limited to 362hp why not ditch the 35R for a Green?

Matt, I got a clear email from the national director saying that if I weigh 3500lb or more 362HP will be TTA** (meaning I get 14 points "penalty"). He said that there will be no addtional penalty for other power or weight modifications. 20 penalty points get you to the next class and I dont see any reason to get 6 more points. BTW, I can go 295's in this class while I am running 225's.

    Am I missing something?

Is he putting you in TTA as a base class, what suspension mods does the car have?

You better weigh that car just like you are going to be racing it, its not going to be 3500lbs, probally closer to 3200

I have Megan suspension. How do I get 300lbs more...?

You can't you can only add 150 lbs of ballast and it has to be in a ballast box etc...

If the power moves you to TTA you still have to use the tire sizing of your bas class of TTB so you have to take points for any tires you put on the car.

You might as well run TTS, if you prep it correctly for TTS you shouldn't have any problem doing very well in that class.

TTA is going to be very hard, you have to run with C5 Z06s.

The weights are now WITH driver... So with a passenger he should make it ;)

The weights were with driver last year.

STi's are normally 3220 to 3340, so with a 200lb driver, 3500lbs should be easily doable.

The scales at Roebling said 3280 with me in the car and no gas....I came off because it cut out. The only thing missing from the car at that point was the back seat which might have been 10lbs but the xbrace was in the car which is easily 10lbs

Just install 300 lbs of stereo equipment. You can bump around the track :)

    Tta/tts

I'll weigh the car tomorrow at TS. (+ I ordered 5 pizzas already...)

Matt - are you saying TTA can be harder that TTS? I thought the higher power, the higher the budget people put in the cars, the tougher the competition.

I can't wait to get on the track at CMP - looks like a great track.

TTA is a very tough class the C5 Z06 is in that class and they are fast. You would have a better chance if you ditched the 35R and put a 2871 or a 3071 on the car, more torque and better spool.

Not to highjack the thread but unfortunately tal had a bad accident today at cmp. He went off at 14 and flipped over the fence. Brake failure was rumored to be the cause. He was medivac'd out and I hope and pray he is alright.
Tal if you read this I have your camera and the fandango guys have all of your stuff put away safely in their trailer.
