im soon, like monday, going to be dropping the dough to do the hybrid swap...2.5 block with 2.0 heads and all that good stuff... im going to a 18g turbo along with injectors fuel and oil pump upgrades with a full tune.... my questions are 1) can anyone with this swap tell me if they have had any problems or issues (2 what kind of power range am i looking at (3 Any other things i should look into upgrading..... all and any info will be helpful
I would throw some STI cams in those heads and have them ported/polished just reworked. Other than that just the standard swap over all new gaskets/seals.
whats the reasoning for the cams.... would i be ok without them, whats the advantages/ disadvantages?
so v6 cams... i dont need to port heads or anything for that cause someone said i did but i dont see why.... any idea of a price on the cams?
I thought Kent said they were Version 5. On a side note are the 06 WRX cams the same as the STi cams?
that i'm not sure about, i'd imagine similar to the legacy's motor. both ej255's i think. I'd definitely go ahead and send off the heads to get them worked on if you have them off anyway. Cams are a good idea. My friend jason has this exact swap. sti 2.5l with WRX heads and an FP TD06-18g. profile link.
No no...they are Version 6. I *SPECIFICALLY* remember this. All EJ257/255 cams are the same, 2004~2007.
