hey they're changing the laws in statesboro, if a bunch of drunken college students can convince a bunch of stuck-up churchies and old farts that alcohol sales on sunday is ok, then it can happen anywhere. there are stipulations to this and bulloch is still a technically a dry county because you can't sell liquor there, but bars that are now classified as restaurants can now serve on sundays.
Its just an online petition to support already proposed legislation. The legislation was introduced last year, I believe, but not acted upon. The petition is to show that the public supports the legislation...
What I don't understand is that I can go to any restaurant or bar and get shit faced but I cannot go to the store and buy a twelve pack to get hammered at home. So if it is a "religious" reason it makes no sense what so ever.
i dont think this will help the "no alcohol on sunday" vote go on the ballot. The legislature has made there mind on this, but it doesn't hurt to try i guess..
Been saying that since I moved here... Don't drink responsibly in your home.. go out and get wasted and drive!!!! Yeah!!! Backwards thinking that reminds me what state I'm in (no offense). We also need to push to get the beer/liquor sales pushed back to 2am.... Alcoholics unite!!!!!!!!! j/k... kinda...
Honestly, can someone please tell me why we can't buy alcohol on Sunday? I can't see any logical reasoning behind it. I just don't get it.
Its seems every Sunday I get the craving for a Chick-Fila biscuit and later a Sweetwater IPA, and then I remember in I live in Georgia.
why start a petition when all people have to do is buy extra beer...ect on saturday or ny other day out of the week.
^^ thats not the point... you don't always know whats going on on Sunday.. Last minute parties, G2G's whatnot... Hell, maybe you just want a damn Heineken all the sudden. You shouldn't have to stockpile just in case...
Just so everyone knows....this is going to legislation today....let's hope that they move Georgia into the 21st Century with this! FTR, only metro Atlanta restaurants serve on Sundays...everywhere else in the state, with the exception of a few other counties, no alcohol sales on sunday can be had.
