I need a trained specialist that has experience with a 2006 Subaru WRX transmissions. If you are qualified or if you know of a Subaru Mechanic that would fit this description, please refer. Do not recommend a Subaru Dealership. I am willing to pay for your time. Email me at paulperdue@perduevision.com if your interested
you talking installing one or pulling the tranny itself apart? I am thinking the latter since you had some troubles...
I've taken a five speed apart before. It isn't anything a tranny tech can't handle with the service specs. PM WJM he can hook you up
He broke first gear while pulling into a parking spot a while back. There's a long thread about it somewhere here unless it got deleted. I actually recently read somewhere about 06 wrx's popping gears for no reason due to the 3.90 diff
I am having to take my dealership to court because they will not honor the warranty they sold me. Trying to pawn it off on "user error". I need the cross examinations on the transmission for court. That is why the person can not work for SOA or SOG or any subaru dealership. They have to be an independent certified subaru mechanic or at least have some sort of experience. You can read all about it here. http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17665
Man that just sucks, I mean you will not find a subaru certified mechanic that does not work for Subaru and as far as a tranny mechanic there simply are none that will touch a subaru tranny around here that I know of.
What about the guys from andrewtech.com. That is what they do - rebuild transmissions with stronger gearsets. Most of the "cores" are broken trannys. They are in Maryland, so it would be $$$ to get someone for a trial, but maybe for a depostion up there, not so bad.
"Bought the car as a demo with 9,000 miles on it and now at 15,000 miles, the transmission is out. 6,000 miles I drove this car. Hmmm, very interesting... The funny part is, it broke when I was parking it. First gear, pulling into a parking space from a dead stop. :::OP, Clack Clack Clack:::" I believe that's your problem right there....DEMO car.... "anyone remember the demo classic car, back when porter was around....04 sti 20g and the rest of the supporting mods....salesmen were taking it out for potential customers doing 6k drops.....i can only image what they did to your car... anyways, I hope everything works out for you bud....
not to mention the numerous track days they went to at R.A. where they had 6+ people in the car thrashing it around.
Really, that would be very useful information. I am not able to talk about the details of the case but am trying to get permission from my attorney so I can fill everyone in. I just know SOG is most likely all over these threads. All I can say is that they definitely bent over the wrong guy. Its going to turn out like Pulp Fiction in the pawn shop. Just take a look at this quality SOG customer service. Either way, if any of you guys can reference threads about similar happenings, I would love to check them out. I appreciate all of your support as everyone on WRXatlanta.com has been great. I am getting my car back next week with a brand new transmission so hopefully I will be able to get up in the near future for a meet.
give me a call at 678-232-8829. I know a guy that is a transmission specialist...he did my tranny. He is not a "subaru certified" mechanic, but he has been doing transmissions for ALL cars for a long time and is certified by a couple other manufacturers.
At this point, we do not need to further examine the transmission. New things have come to light and should be sufficient without a further analysis of the transmission. Thanks for all your help.
so did you get another stock tranny? For what you spent you could have did a 6 speed and been bulletproof! Congrats on getting her fixed though!
Yes I am very glad to be rolling again. I am keeping the used transmission (14,000 miles) and having Will build it up for me. That is a bit down the road though.
