I'm in for the t&t on my BIRTHDAY, the 15th. The event is the day before finals so I have to wait to see how much I have done before I commit to both.
Meredith, I didn't get a chance to talk to you yesterday (other than you yelling at me for not having the sponsors stickers on!) but I wanted to share a little irony with you. Last summer we were at CMP with the S2000 club. You brought your STi and offered me a ride along in an afternoon session. I was so impressed with the car on track that it sealed my need for an STi and I bought my car this February. Yesterday I realized who you were and that you'd switched to an S2000! Funny stuff.
Sorry I do warn people I have to be a bitch at these events I really want to take a ride in it but I just was really busy. I am going to tell you out right the STi isn't going to be an very competitive AS car (well maybe for Prosolos) but I'm sure it's still a fun car! I had to use you in a "datapoint" agruement in Nasioc... I will be curious to see how it pans out with some nice r-comps on. I switched my car in a desire to be competitive in AS at a national level, locally and divisionally you can be pretty dangerous in an STi (See Randy in teh black 05). Hope you come out again so i can get a ride along!
Yikes, I'm a datapoint! Before we judge the car based on my driving let's take a look at my previous S2000 results too. I'm generally near the top of the people running stock tires. Never bothered to buy an extra set of wheels/r-comps just for a few weekends and I don't have much natural talent. As well, it's a real B**** to go from an S to the STi! A lot of fun, but very different! I'm not terribly concerned with winning AS, or any other class. My goal is to be at the top of folks running stock tires (either via PAX or AS). Next year I'll likely feel the need to tune and mod a bit and change classes. Maybe tires at some point. I had no problem using the sponsors stickers once I understood it was mandatory. I was just shocked that I registered, passed tech, and then all of a sudden someone is telling me there's something wrong with the car. I know you weren't really yelling! I don't know how I could have known that before hand? I guess some people found out about it at tech? Too bad there's not a drivers meeting, or information packet for your first autoX with AR.
Yeah I'm sure it's going to to take awhile..... my point to the guy on nasioc is the local events are always different.... Jay is a veteran in teh S2000 and you are relatively new to your car. Our tech and registration people were suppost to have asked you if you needed the stickers. Our sponsor is new for the season (we have been without a sponsor for a year or so). Again we appreciate everyone baring with us since we are trying out a new format. Typcially we only have drivers meetings for novices to save time, yesterday we did 180 cars in just under 4 hours. I really want to get a ride next time though... after autoxing my STi for 3.5 years I'm still curious what the 08 will feel like.
walter.... seriously autox is not a place to show off your drifting-ricer antics FYI I'm in the black mazda 6 behind you instructing
Yesterday was my 2nd autox. I had a blast! Wish I would have ridden with some more experienced drivers. Next time! And thanks BrianGT for riding with me and giving me some pointers. Think they helped on my last run. But I didn't get the re-run time posted. :wtc:
PM or email Brian here or on soloatlanta if it should have counted. He works with timing and scoring.
