Well, soon being a relative term... My name is Bill, and I'm currently in Iraq, stationed at Vandenberg AFB, CA which is on the Central Coast... near Santa Barbara. I drive a 2004 STi, mildly modded. I'll post up specs in the members ride area shortly. Ummm... interests? Photography, cars, shooting pool, road racing, and things that I can't possibly afford. I'll be moving out to Charleston, SC sometime in August, and I'm currently looking for local clubs, websites, and forums so I can start getting to know some people to hang with. It took entirely too long to find the local scene where I currently live due to... lack of interest I guess? I came across WRXAtlanta while searching on NASIOC for any car clubs on the east coast, specifically NC and SC. Anyhow, I think that's about it for now. I'm looking forward to talking to you guys soon. Bill
Welcome dude, thanks for your service! We have a few members out in Charleston, and quite a few along the coast. The Savannah crew is almost always up to something, and Coolrex and a few others up in Myrtle Beach are on the boards quite a bit.
Welcome.... there are a few decent tracks near Charleston... Roebling Road and Carolina Motorsports Park!
I was stationed in Charleston (Navy) awhile back. Still one of my favorite places. The AFB is really nice out there and the weather is great, though not as nice as Santa Barbara. The drive from Atlanta to Charleston isn't too bad either. I'll echo the statements of others, thanks for serving in these times and let us know if you need anything when you get back!
I defintely can't wait to get out to Charleston... or maybe it's more of I can't wait to get out of Iraq?!! hahaha either way, I'm looking forward to it. Santa Barbara is nice, don't get me wrong, it's just too damn expensive out there. Oh, and the weather likes to change about every 15 min. The thing that's going to suck the most is that I bought a house out there about a year ago and I was just getting my garage the way I like it... *sigh* oh, well, back to the drawing board!!! hahahaha
You should be able to get a heck of alot more house in Charleston for the money than you did in Santa Barbara!!!
