    TopSpeed Tuned Supra Runs back to back 8's!!!!
    Our good friend Clark has finally broke the 8 second barrier in his street driven Topspeed Tuned Supra. Not once but twice today did he run 8's.

    For those that don't know the car its full weight, with A/C and subs in the back. A true street car in every sense. Clark has done almost all the wrenching on his own car and drives it on the streets daily racking up atleast 15k miles in a year on it. This is not some fully gutted drag car or dyno queen.

    Everyone here at Topspeed is very excited for him and look forward to seeing much faster times.

    Seriously??? This car used to eat them alive on the freeway. I know of atleast a dozen times or so this car beat liter bikes and busa's.

    Which one was it he came back from Miami and it beat him so it prompted more than the stock bottom end/cams to go to that built engine? (summer 2005)

    and I am guessing he has a cage if he ran 2 runs in the 8's in the same day;)

    Out west a friend of mine had an 900hp Supra and the thing was just scary fast when you pushed the go pedal. I am sure that Top Speed one is running over 1000hp.

    I don't think it has a cage. If it has a cage could it really be called a street car.

    It needs to in order to run 8's at drag strip. PERIOD. Otherwise there are serious safety violations going on.

    Yes you can have a cage and it be a street car. There are several factory examples of street cars with SCCA/FIA cages already installed. I for one would love to have a full cage and safety equipment in all my street cars.

    Congrats to Clark and Doug sounds like the car is really dialed in well. If that was all boost I cant wait to see what a nitrous run will look like.


    I'd say that I'd love a ride in it but thats a little too scary for me. :eek:hnoes:

    Actually checking the logs he sent me last night the car was hitting boost cut in the top of first shifting to second so clark short shifted it into second. You can actually here it break up right after the launch. I would expect this car has an easy 8.7 on a better pass just like it sits.

    Nitrous numbers to come later....

    Nice job Doug on tunning and Clark on driving I saw this Beast of a car when I was getting tuned last year very nice Supra.
