    I regret to inform everyone that as of last week I have taken a job overseas with ING (http://www.ing.an/). As some of you already know, I took a trip out of the country to Curacao. While it may have appeared that I was leaving for vacation, this is not entirely true. I have been hired by ING's marketing divison for a position (and salary) that I simply cannot turn down. I will withdraw from GT at the end of this semester and finish my last semester at the International College of Commerce in the Netherlands (http://www.iccglobal.org/pages_nl/index_nl.html) in the fall.

    What does this mean to the community? Unfortunately, the members and moderators I have spoken to are unable to continue running the site. This includes performing daily maintenance and day to day business duties. Additionally, the support from our vendors and members is no longer enough to financially support the community. I have paid for one additional month of service. At the end of this month I have instructed the host to pull the plug on our server and call it a day.

    It has truly been a pleasure working with everyone. There is much to reflect upon but I am not one for long posts. It has been a blast since November 2003 working with this idea and few things have pleased me as much as bearing witness to the growth of this community. We have all had a chance to hang out, talk shop and turn wrenches. We've all had our fair share to drink too :) Please do not let this announcement deter you. I want to see the Southern Subaru community continue from where I have left it off. I have already spoken with Kevin of IWSTi and we will be receiving a Southern section on their forum to help make this transition a bit easier.

    I wish you all the best of luck in the future and hope to see some of you pay me a visit down in the islands :)

    sorry to see ya go alex :( but on a lighter note i hope the new job works out well for you.

    ps. is anyone down for starting a new board before alex leaves? ill help as much as i can

    Unfortunately, I do not believe it is an Aprils Fools joke. Just a coincidence I guess.

    Honestly, I wish I could say this comes as a surprise, but I have been expecting it for a couple of months now. Once Milo moved, and knowing Alex was close to finishing up at GA Tech, it was only a matter of time before Alex has to enter the real world, and then how much time would he have to run the site. He has been the only one running things since the beginning, and if he were staying here in ATL, then I would expect the site to remain, but why spend all that time maintaining a site, when you will never be around to meet the members, and so on and so forth.

    well, i guess it was inevitable... you guys were in college and would eventually move on to other things. Best of luck to ya dude, ING is a good place to be.

    And thank you Alex, Milo (et al) for creating an environment for such a great community.

    well, like WJM and Siegel just said, "I'll run it"... I would kind of expect one of the bigger vendors to continue this project. It is in their best interest to do so. But ifit all goes to iwsti, then i guess it's just a sea-change.
