so i was just doing my usual browsing on eBay and came across this interesting setup. check out this STi. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-WRX-STI-ASPEN-WHITE-31K-MILES-MINT-MUST-SEE_W0QQitemZ330224839930QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item330224839930 first one to guess wins something of their choosing and at their own expense
that IS a MY04. like Mr. Ball stated...it's got the FMIC and the STi top mount. It's a real like FMSW!!! (front mount subwoofer)
yeah i was talking about the FMIC and the TMIC. not sure on the 04/05 i thought the way to tell was with the stickers on the door. they were either stacked or straight. can't remember which year was which. but matt you win whatever you wanna buy yourself.
2004 MY by VIN. Has 2005 Interior except the steering wheel. Has 2004 Exterior. Has FMIC yet stock engine package. How strange.
yup, besides reading the vin the easiest way is to notice the little black bit in front of the rear wheels, which was fixed for 05+. Although I thought STI's always had that painted?
No. STi's were not painted on that piece. Normal RS's and WRX's were not either. Sport Package 2.5 RS for 05 and Premium Package WRX for 04~05 had that piece painted.
Haha thank you. So yeah, I still want to know what the deal is. I guess there is just a core mounted down there not connected to anything?
Hey well whoever buys it will have a (looks like a) Perrin intercooler to turn around and sell and make the first months payment. Or the Sti Top mount.
Yeah it does look like the core mounted without anything attached to it. Ricer. Sheesh. Overall looks pretty clean, though.
yeah i think he had the front mount installed at one point but didn't want to take it out when it went back to stock cause of the bumper being cut and leaving the front mount in would look better.
I actually didn't think of the fact that the owner would've gone back to stock before trading in the car. That makes sense. So maybe they're not a ricer afterall.
Yeah I was thinking that maybe he went back to stock and didn't take the core off. Has to make you wonder what happened to make him decide to sell it? Did he blow it up and put a new block in it? Did it have a massive turbo on it? Who knows...
