you guys think I can win this without a hassle?

I got a $50 parking ticket for parking in my own neighborhood. In front of my actual house that is 'public' parking for anyone from anywhere, but at other parts of the road there is a sign that says 'resident parking only' and you are supposed to have a tag. However, my house isn't in that particular area because the middle 1/3 of the road is anyone can park while the two ends have resident parking only signs (same residential houses etc the road doesnt change just the signs) I parked much further down the road as I was running late to class, and when I came back I had a ticket. Since I'm a resident in the neighborhood for 20 years this seems kinda bullshit to me, but the cops don't run the tags supposedly so they wouldn't care or notice. I bet if i go in and tell them to scrap the ticket then they will say 'you need a tag' so i'll probably end up scoring a court date. Will the judge you think agree that the whole thing's a joke or just be an ass and say you dont have the stupid hang tag in your car, so gimme the goddamn money  Eh

Is the time/effort you put into getting out of the ticket worth $50?
To me no, but the fact that the government uses that thought process to screw people out of money really pisses me off.

I think you could beat that one.

Yea, go buy the tag and take it to court with you. Just saying you will buy it will most likely result in another court date to prove that you bought it. Plus if you go in with it, you can probably get off by saying you forgot to put it in the window that day

It might say when it was issued.

TRUE, if so don't lie. But it will prove that you are a resident, and that you have a tag now ;)

    my question is:

How does a neighborhood have parking permits for half of the street and not the whole thing? That's crap, but then again from what I've heard, so is that whole area down there. Talk to Bobby about his parking woes.

Is there a sign that says this section doesn't require permits? Because if a sign is on both sides of the street, I think that applies to the whole street unless stated otherwise.

Move to the country where you can park on your lawn instead! :)

i got one last week. I just pay the nice parking office.

$25 or even $50 is worth not having to deal with the city of atlanta...
