aluminum drive shaft

    does anyone know where the best place to get a aluminum drive shaft is? one of my friends used to have one on his sti and you could tell a huge difference when you drove it. it was really smooth feeling.:wiggle:

    there is one but the diameter is quite large and you have to bang in part of the floor pan to clear

    yeah my friend said that he had to do some banging but it was so minor that no one could even tell when he put the stock one back on to sell unless you were looking for it.

    driveshaftshop. I got mine in 3 days

    and I didn't have to bang shit on my floorboards. it is a beefy part, and it makes a noticeable difference

    IIRC they're in north carolina

    NOOB QUESTION:
    what does a lighter drive shaft do? (besides make the over all weight be lower?)

    Just reduces rotational mass, like a lightweight flywheel, except between the tranny and rear diff.

    and you can really feel the difference though. it just feels alot better. real smooth when your driven
