So I pulled the trigger on an STi Catback today. Anyone know of a good place to get it installed, since the flange has to be rotated and the midpipe has to be modified? Also, is there anything to worry about with the pipe diameters and whatnot? As usual, NASIOC has me worrying about things hnoes:
any muffler shop would be able to hack it and weld/rotate flanges. no need to get all stressed out, it's just an exhaust man. if it's got flanges, you can figure out a way to bolt it up
Why don't you pm Kingrex he put a hella exhaust on my car and midas also contributed! No worries. If you need more power install my td04/wrx intercooler:naughty:I'll give to you for close to nothing...I expect to hear a new exhaust next time I see you on Wileo or Coleman:bigthumb:
True to a degree, but probably only if you were to run like a 4 inch exhaust on an NA car. NA cars need backpressure usually to run properly. With the STI exhaust you might lose a little low end at the very worst. I think what is more likely is that you'll see some small horsepower and torque gains, as the STI exhaust will no doubt flow tons better than the stock one without being too much. Better flow is always good. I see ricers with 3" exhausts on NA civics all the time. Also, your car is gonna sound bitchin since you don't have a turbo in the way of the BOXER RUMBLE!!!!! Now that's what I call REAL ULTIMATE POWER!!! :naughty: Seriously, can't wait to hear it man.
I think the STi exhaust diameter is around 2.5 so no worries. Here is an example of my exhaust, quite conservative with the local PD in mind, but I opened it up a little....Stromung power baby! http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/ii294/AdesteAnimo/?action=view¤t=100_0478.flv http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/ii294/AdesteAnimo/?action=view¤t=100_0479.flv
