The two-seat Subaru R1e is capable of driving at speeds up to 65 mph with a range of up to 50 miles. oh... boy.
not bad at all, think about it... get to work charge, get back in go home. 40 miles for 15 mins. nice.
Good for you Atlanta guys with short trips unless you get stuck in some of that horrible traffic I dread everytime I go to Atlanta. For me I wouldn't trust it. I have a 30 mile 1 way commute through the back country roads every day.
I guess you could carry an inverter around with you just in case you need a "jump" in the back country.
Yeah this would be strictly for the city 50 miles is nothing I wouldnt even be able to make it to Atlanta
yeah, well that's why they are testing in NYC. not the ATL, which includes like 25 other towns bigger than most other small cities in the US. it ain't for us.
Thats why you need one of these electric cars.... 220 mile range 0-60 in less than 4 http://www.teslamotors.com/
I don't think traffic would affect things too much... unlike a gas engine, unless you have the air on and your 12 inch sub pounding, the car doesn't lose charge when you're sitting still... right? I can't imagine that the car "idles" and even if it does, I'm sure it's at a waaaaay low rate... Rather, I think that 50 miles range is just that... it's approximately 50 miles range, no matter how long it takes
