I know its popular in the BMW and Mercedes crowd, especially on the CSL models and some of the newer mercs... Quick photoshop -- thoughts?
or just get a vinyl wrap on the roof. its cheaper and you could remove it if you sell. They are getting popular with the G35 crowd also.
To me there isn't enough to tie it in with the rest of the car. If you had a carbon hood it would flow a bit better to me.
I think it will look hot. Black will flow with anything, if he wanted another color I'd question him but black would be fine. You probably won't even notice it's different
To each his own. Upon a second look, it does look pretty good. I would try the vinyl wrap thing and see how you like it. Also, your car looks fcuking badass in that picture.
I would do the vinyl before paint anyway -- just to make sure I like it I am not doing CF anywhere on the car, I dont like it Nevertheless, I believe there is enough to tie it into the car w/ the black mirror skins and black headlamps.
HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that looks sweet!!
Haha, yep. I honestly don't know what the big deal is. I've been rocking the black roof, trunk, and hood for years. :keke:
Didnt I suggest this a year ago to you? I think it'll look awesome on my car and continue with the panda look, on your car it'll look pretty good too. Socrates42 has a black roof on his wagon and it looks sick but he still hasnt posted pics of it.
I am getting my wagon back from Topspeed tomorrow, maybe, hopefully. I'll try to get some new photo's and post them up soon. I'm modding a zero sport replica grill and I have some new headlights to go on so I really want to get everything done before I introduce her to WRXATLANTA.
Chop these: Older pics of my car before the drop and STI scoop but otherwise it looks the same. Seanwrxwagon has a white bugeye wagon also (extremely rare car in my experience!). Sounds like we have very similar cars, except he's got an STI 2.5 and I've got an STI 2.0, but otherwise both are lacking roof rails and rocking dark wheels.
The black vinyl roof would look killer, whereas cf hoods tend to look tacky and ruin the flow on blue.
Hey SUBY_RUE, can you chop those picture if you get a chance. I would still like to see this on a white wagon.
lol. Widebody, more like cut into the doors to put ricer ferrari effects on them and leave the stock width . . . thanks though, that definately lets me imagine the look a little bit more. If the price is similar to what Alex quoted me a couple days ago I think I'm going to go through with this.
I have a new hood scoop ready for paint so I was weighing my options. Now I'm thinking about going flat black on the hood just inside the raised portion that surrounds the hood scoop. 1)Has anybody seen this effect? 2)Any pictures/mad photoshop skills?
I've seen it done on some cars back in the day but nobody local except Miranda on her STI. We're going to have to try hard to out-panda each other now . . . definately need to get a photoshoot of the wagon twins.
GTscoob, I'm up for a panda showdown. I have to get the hit and run damage fixed before I submit to a photo shoot. I think I will try to get some other "stuff" painted at the same time. Right now I am running a replica JDM STi type front grill painted black. I have decided it will only look good in white but the hood scoop/hood section will be black, maybe, possibly, I'll decide later.:dunno
Maybe I have been in ATL too long, but I think two-tone cars are straight up ghetto IMHO. Put your STi on some JDM 22s!
ok, somehow I missed this thread... If anyone wants to see a flat black roof, come take a look. I got it done when I had the whole thing repainted Audi RS4 Silver. Flat back roof. Kept the rails on however. so far I love it. I can hook you up with the shop that did mine if you want. http://cid-6dbd03e2fda0a1e7.spaces.live.com/photos/cns!6DBD03E2FDA0A1E7!113
