I am considering become a distributor for PoorBoys detailing products. If you've never used them before, I strongly recommend you try a couple of their products out. The purpose of this group-buy is to establish what most people want so that we can put together a "kit" -- something like a small package for exterior and a small package for interior. We will have to order everything by the case, but I'd like to have at least 5 or 6 people interested in some sort of "kit". I ultimately want to create a package for the normal Subaru enthusiast that is around $100 if not less that will effectively allow for the cleaning of nearly every major area. Please take a look @ poorboysworld.com for a list of their products. Here's what I would suggest: Exterior Bug Squash (http://poorboysworld.com/bug-squash.htm) -- 16oz Use it 3:1 for a normal pre-wash or stronger for heavily soiled areas. Bug Squash is a product no car enthusiast should be without all year long! Super Slick & Suds (http://poorboysworld.com/super-slick.htm) -- 1 qt Super Slick & Suds is a very highly concentrated car shampoo with extra-ordinary lubricants, surfactants and suds to safely remove dirt and grime from a well maintained vehicle without stripping off wax or sealants. It is pH neutral (7) and between a 1/4 and 1/2 ounce will do a vehicle or two. Super Slick & Suds makes drying a breeze. Mega-Plus Wash Mitt A large, super soft and absorbent mitt with a thumb and soft cuff. Won't fall off, and one size fits all. Great for exteriors and interiors, buffing, or interior wipe downs. Clay Bar Kit: one clay bar with container; one 16oz Spray & Wipe with sprayer; one 16x16 Microfiber Deluxe Mega Towel Waffle Weave Drying Towel (No Tag) Safe and fast way to dry your vehicle quickly. It absorbs up to 10 times its weight in water and is of course machine washable over and over. Interior Natural Look Dressing 16oz Trim Restorer is a long lasting unique dressing, with a patented UV absorber for ultimate protection of exterior and interior surfaces. Restorer is unmatched on grained trim, bumpers, vinyl, leather, dashboards, tires and engine compartment plastics. A must for the enthusiast or show car. Leather Stuff 16oz (For the Limited Owners) Poorboy's World Leather Stuff has been developed to be your one-step Leather, Vinyl and Rubber cleaner, conditioner, and protectant. Leather Stuff is made with the finest ingredients available to provide a clean, soft and non-greasy surface with UV-A & UV-B protection. Leather Stuff has a very pleasant leather scent to keep the leather in your vehicle as well as furniture and clothing looking and smelling like new. Misc. Wash / Rinse Bucket 5gal Grit Guard Grit Guard is a radial designed insert that fits in the bottom of any 3.5 to 7 gallon bucket and cleans your wash mitt, brush, towel, or other washing utensil. The whole idea behind Grit Guard is to protect your precious painted surfaces from being scratched. Grit Guard is a product that simply works - it separates the grit from the mitt.
i would be interested in the exterior kit if it came with some polish and wax. no need for the interior b/c i have no leather
For the most part, blotting with water and a clean microfiber should do the trick. Did you spill something on your armrest already?
No :unamused: But you know how clean I keep my car (read: dirty as your mom), so it needs all the help it can get...
Would you still want everything else? I mean, this involves me ordering like a case of each of this stuff, buying the buckets and putting the kits together for everyone.
Alex, your timing sucks. I just ordered over $120 from zainos monday and got it in wednesday. I would have done this since it would have been cheaper.
He is local, and carries some awesome products. I've used them the past 2-3 years and have gotten a good bit of people into them. His prices are also pretty good in person, he's a vendor for year-one and quite a few other places around here. Alex, while i use flynns products.... I'd say a good package would be bucket and mit, carwash, and a shammy. Maybe add some spray detailer if they carry it.
Opening this back up for interest, posting new information in the first post. I would love to get something of this nature off the ground. If there is another brand you are interested, say Sonus, suggest that as well!
Sounds like a good idea. This is definitely something that would interest me if I had a place to wash my car Just a question though, claybar but no wax?
The kit is designed for those new to detailing, and I find the items you mentioned something that most "new" people (for lack of a better description) know very little about. However, to address your question -- I can do a lot about that, what are you interested in?
Ah got ya. Basically what I said.....I need a good clay, polish, wax and sealant kit. When I get time I'll see what Poor boys has to offer. I do know their Bug Squash is awesome.
Never heard of any first hand experience from Sonus. Have you looked at Optimum? A lot of the BIG detailers on Nasioc swear by them. http://www.optimumcarcare.com edit....Never mind didn't realize Sonus was the Klasse brand. It's AWESOME stuff!
Well I just got off the phone with Autopia's owner. May have some good news here soon Autopia's brands include Sonus and Ultima: http://www.autopia-carcare.com/ Check it out, and let me know. As I said, may be something happening on the horizon that could benefit everyone
Well I could see about putting together a serious intro kit, although I doubt people would want to drop that much money. This would include a 7424 porter cable with it
I have one already. Has anyone used a porter cable? It simply works WONDERS. I'm due soon to redo my car so I'll actually do some before and after shots just to show people the difference and maybe help you do some sales
WTF is a porter cable. I am in for the big kit whatever I want it all my car is dirty and needs a cleaning. Oh which one of you douche nozzels are gonna do the work?
Are you drunk? Porter cable is a variable speed random orbital buffer / polisher used for all sorts of detailing related actions on your car (e.g. waxing, polishing, removing surface scratches, etc)
^^cool then I can win it back when we race. LOL J/K Damn Alex I wasnt thinking I already have an orbital, it new never been used. I am lazy, not good for the swap I am in the middle of.
You don't want to used an orbital. Random orbital is what you want. You have to be very careful when using an orbital or you will burn the paint.
buy me some new polishers and wax, and I'll do your car, and teach you how to do it in the future if you're so inclined
well I get every other friday off so maybe we can do something then. dont you work from home? Of course I will help but I really need to get with it and wash my car more than 4 times a year.
no I don't work from home. need to wait on a little warmer weather. I would claybar the car once a year or so, and polish as necessary. I have all this shit but I'm slack as fuck when it comes to washing my car
Alex, Pm sent. I'll do your car right for $35. Thats what I charge the rest of my clients; Includes hand wash/dry and inside detail.
If you're doing it for $35, it isn't done "right" IMO are you talking a full wash, claybar, machine detail (polish, sealant, etc) ? this alone takes HOURS
