Steven pulled my motor today to find that the 6 puck murdered my flywheel. So that raises two questions!

    1) Since I am using an STI shortblock, will I be able to use an STI flywheel with a wrx 5 speed?

    2) Does anybody have a flywheel lying around I could buy from you? Errr, make payments on because all I have left is credit cards since I haven't been to work in a couple of weeks?

I need this ASAP in order to finish this swap this weekend :sx:

I've got a stock wrx flywheel. Its got ~15K miles on it. I'll pm you my number. I'll be out of town all weekend but if you need it my roommate should be able to let you into the house to get it. Make me a decent offer and its yours.

You can use a 6mt flywheel with a 5mt. You just have to grind down some of the ribs on the bell housing.

I have a 5mt flywheel that I was going to use when my plans were to go PPG. Now that that has changed you can have it.

Let me elaborate. You can use a 6MT STOCK sized Pressure plate and clutch. The flywheel isn't what hits....they are the same size only with a bigger contact patch/face. The pressure plate is what hits the bellhousing. However the one I was trying to use was a lot thicker than the 5MT and there was absolutely no room to move the throwout bearing enough to disengage the clutch. If I had a 'stock' 6MT PP then I would be in business back when I had my 5MT.

Yeah there was a good 1/4 inch groove all the way around that flywheel when Steven and I pulled it last night. When I did the swap on my old car we just bolted all the 5mt parts back up. I would just have mike being his over since he's coming anyways.

Mike that would be perfect! What time are you gonna head over? I will probably go around 5 unless you want to go earlier.

Thanks gtscoob for the offer! And everyone else for the knowledge.

you guys don't know how much I love wrxatlanta right now!
