LOL.... I remember that they had that event during the weekend before Nationals.. I saw his repsonse on NASIOC...
They will still have the 08 WRC car and run it this season. I'm predicting that by 2010 they will begin plans to pull out if they have not started them already.
Bump for Bill's post in the NASIOC SE Forum. There's a poll in there discussing options. I still don't really think it's a possibility, but maybe if enough people show interest, it'll happen. For what it's worth, I think that Valdosta is the best site of those listed.
it has nothing to do with interest, SOA doesn't have the money. they are having to cut jobs due to financial issues.
I beg to differ on several counts. Several years ago, the Atlanta Subaru Challenge was cancelled due to a lack of commitments. SOA may have dropped some (or all) of its support for the 2008 challenges. But, the Great-Lakes region has gotten a challenge. Bill's put a feeler out there to see what kind of support that he could drum up based on levels of interest. I'm going to guess that he's trying to take some information to dealers, venues, and supporting regions to say "I have X people interested, that would pay X dollars". I'm just asking that people go there and check it out if they have any interest in having a 2008 challenge. He's trying to put in on using local dealerships support, not SOA. As I said before, I don't think that it will happen, but it definitely won't happen if you don't try.
If you read Bill's post on Nasioc you'd know that this has nothing to do with SOA. Bill would be working with his employer Subaru of Jacksonville, NASIOC SE and Robert Lewis SCCA Solo Chair of Dixie Region in order to put on an event.
i apologize, some of the other regions are still doing the Subaru challenge, the SE is not due to the reasons i listed. but is someone is wanting to put it together more power to them, if its a weekend i am not working and its in Atlanta i will be there. i don't read nasoic because i don't like dealing with know it all that don't know anything, no offense. but local dealerships may support it because they are not owned by SOA but other people. I am just going off information I received when inquiring to the district office here in Atlanta. I also don't appreciate being spoken to like i am an idiot (not you GT) because i dont 100% support auto cross.
wait...reading a post before posting your own opinion about a topic you have no knowledge about? whats the point of that?
Ok Randy says this: You reply with this: And this: OK... that makes total sense now... it wasn't my intention for anyone to feel like an idiot. Next time I'll refrain from posting pertinent information.
i like tacos and autocross, preferably at the same time. maybe we can find a local mexican restaurant to help support this year's challenge.
