Hate to say it folks, but it looks that way. I saw this over on IA, so maybe it's a joke, but most people seem to think its true. There are no official reports on their website yet, they should be releasing an announcement in a couple days.
yeah i saw this on IA, some guy said he called and they confirmed it... so we will see... at least it will save me $70
Well if it is true I can certainly understand where they're coming from. I often wondered about their margins @ the events and apparently it is not so good anymore.
Agreed! They became complacent in what they were doing, and didn't take the necessary steps to control the monster they had created.
I can almost guarantee that it is true. I have not received any emails from my Nopi Contact about registering as a club this year. Last year and the year before, I think I got the first notification about club registration in April, usually a reminder email every 2 weeks thru to September. Being that i haven't gotten a single email this year, I would not be surprised to here that it is not happening this year, at least not in Atlanta.
Yeah it was the same crap but I enjoyed spending the time with other enthusiasts. Now the drifting was better and better. It rocked last year. Dang this means no D&B meet pre Nopi this year as well.....this blows. Was looking forward to a mini vacation. I guess the wife and I will find something else to do.
WHAT NOOOOOOOOOOO! :unamused::wtc: anywayz we can still have a d&b meet just wont have to clean the car after or get up extra early for meet for show. dang that sad I alwayz looked forward to that show.
no rice burner traffic now! :wiggle: dang shame though. I know people come from miles and miles for it
damn this sux! i always got in free as an air force recruiter. this was my favorite and most fun of my special events i had to work. oh well, maybe in 09'.
It's too big of an event with tons of money coming in and out for it to not get back going again quickly.
This is all on Nopi no other series are doing bad because of the economy. Hell every time attack I goto is better than the last. More turnout etc...
agree. there is always something more to the story they aren't telling but it is just easier to say that's what's it about and leave it at that
Come over for the Petit LeMans. It's normally the same weekend as NOPI, every other year it's the weekend after it. Good times and great cars.
That would be one hell of an experience, not only are you getting to drive on Road Atlanta, but you would be driving around with the thing that makes the Subaru community so great, the other enthusiasts.
i'm going to the road atlanta race in october instead. in fact i have been going to more race oriented events since the last NOPI i went to (and won my class) in '05. I guess you could say, i've matured.... haha
U can get your automotive fix at the Petite Lemans. I have gone to both Nopi and the Petite for about the last 7 years and the Petite is by far the most fun and interesting. I always see totally rare baddass cars that you won't see at Nopi, like a CLK 63 Black series.
