I haven't paid a dime for any work done to it (other than tire mounting/balancing and alignments). I probably forgot a bunch of shit that I'll add later. I try to keep my car clean and tasteful. this is a little old but I like the picture here is a picture taken about 10 minutes ago: any questions feel free to axe.
Got IE workin right now, Nice Nicad awsome mods, love the color too. I am still contemplating on a color for mine I know mica blue looks awsome on all Imprezas' but I want somethin a little different.
Nice bugeye! Makes mines look like poo, lol. Post some interior shots, even though we know what it probably looks like.
Clean. I hate to be the one to tell you, but people are right it IS a damn good looking bugeye. Can't wait to see it with the new headlights.
lordy that is one spicin' hot WRX. looks perfect. i'd love to hear your feedback on the d-specs once you've had more time on them.
had the d-specs for a few weeks now. I keep them about 4.5 turns from full stiff. they ride very nice, no clunks. the car is very responsive and planted. it rides nice, a tad bit rougher but not too bad on the kidneys. I'm really debating a quick steering rack at this point
minor update. bought some JDM projectors a while back, started work on modding them this weekend with alex's help. current plan is to drop TSX lenses with 55W bulbs and ballasts in. holy fuck these things are bright. building a custom harness for the lights and should be done soon. teaser pic with the JDMs torn open http://img266.imageshack.us/my.php?image=retroqz4.jpg
55w is nutty, I'll attest to that. It was an enjoyable project... First and foremost, this is the only HID kit I recommend. This is the only kit that I deal with and the only one I will sell. Yes it is more expensive than whats on ebay BUT this has a lifetime warranty that I back and that the manufacturer backs. I cannot say this about any other brand that I have ever dealt with. We experienced a dead ballast problem on Justin's WRX and we ran into this problem. His current kit is approximately 2.5 years old and one of them is already borked. A standard (even OEM) xenon setup is 35w. ALL OEM xenon setups use bulbs between 4300 and 5000k. Let me repeat this, 4300 and 5000k. Take note that I did not say 7k, 8k, 9, or even 22k. As with a lot of the first time setups Ive done, we decided to do a "on-car" test to check a couple of things out. Please note the F&F look on Justin's face. Closeup of how clear the "clear" tsx lenses are. You are seeing the shield inside that creates the cutoff.
truth. just finished making the harness. lo-beams are switched via a bosch relay, high beams aren't even hooked up :keke: spent about 2 hours making the harness w/ 12AWG, turned out nice. since the center on the plug is the shared positive and I'm triggering my relay with it, lo beams should be on all the time for flash to pass, etc. hooray.
few small minor updates. the triple a-pillar has been removed. currently modding an OEM clock gauge pod to accept 52mm gauges. a-pillar was too in my face and ricey for me. buying a beater driver VERY soon. at that point, the subaru will be parked while I fab up my turbo kit. prelim specs in my head are: kelford 272s, GT35 (or GT37 w/ 1.12 hotside) with a 1.06 hotside, meth, etc. everything will be fabbed up myself to save money. considering running a holset turbo with a HUGE hotside also. think 12cm^2 shortblock is sitting in the garage. EJ257, cobb race bearings, cobb pistons (ceramic crowns and moly coated skirts), and cobb long rods one thing I need is a set of bare heads if anyone has them. prefer just a set of EJ205 castings. edit: more I'm reading about the GT37 and looking at it's compressor maps, the more I am leaning towards it. will probably fab up a twin scroll uppipe for a divided inlet (need to check and see if garrett makes one) on the R+L banks.
and since I'm feeling a little frisky, here are a few shots of some things I welded up for ped he had a ~1/2" hole in his intercooler charge pipe from his meth nozzle. welded that up and welded on a bung for his wideband O2 sensor http://www.justingarrison.net/images/subaru/pedschargepipe.jpg http://www.justingarrison.net/images/subaru/pedsdownpipe.jpg excuse the iphone pics
feel free to come over and show me how to do it better, son. chargepipe had to be filled in, then I ground it smooth unlike your mom's pock marked ass
Lol I was jk, looks better than the EWG welds I saw yesterday. Don't have to slit your wrists about it
 haha.... looks good. Make sure you look up kmurphy on iwsti. He's got some nice shit he's welding up, something similar to your plans IIRC.
Thats what was on my brothers car....not what I would recommend. There are a lot better options on the market now, most of them from Precision 58mm, 60\62, 62\62 65\67
I've been looking at precision. problem with garrett is that it is old technology.. people seem to have a love/hate relationship with precision. what didn't you like about the 37? it's a pretty good match for a 2.5L. PDX posted up this graph showing the pressures at 7k RPM. upper right blue dot is 28# @ 7000RPM they made 565/577 with a GT40 hotside and 37 compressor
Its not that its a bad turbo I just think the precisions are better. Its a beast of a turbo if you have the right mods, pump and meth and you have a 650hp setup
