What did you end up doing? I'm afraid my underhood temps are pretty nasty with the new turbo...

I did my own ceramic coating. Bought the Techline Coatings Black Satin and did my headers, uppipe, and half the downpipe. Underhood temps are WAAAAY lower.

I still haven't done anything. The swap isn't done yet. I just wanted to do uppipe, equal length headers, and downpipe. Maybe intake manifold if there's enough left. What'd you use to put it on? Air spray or paint brush?

Airspray gun. You 'have' to sandblast the parts first though.

I contacted this place, there are some people here that have used them with good results I recall.

They quoted me 50 dollars for a shorty DP, and said it would take about a week.

^^^Nice, I'll drop them an email - do they do inside and out?

You do not want to treat inside pre-turbo.

It's for the downpipe, no worries - I'm thinking about just wrapping it instead...the 7-10 days downtime would suck...

Just do it yourself. Heatwrapping will promote deterioration and rusting...even on SS.

what products would I need for that? I mainly just don't want the downtime - If I can take it off and have it finished in a day that'd be awesome.

Techline coating. $32 shipped. Linky here

4 oz. cover my entire equal length headers, uppipe, and half the downpipe.

You 'HAVE' to get the part sandblasted, then wipe it clean with acetone, and paint with airgun. Let dry for 1 hr, install carefully, then the heat will cure it.

Matt, what's happening! Long time no see :wtc:

I met your cousin (Andrew) a couple weeks ago - he came up and watched the UGA vs GA southern game.

Now that the legasexy is finished you'll have to go for a ride! (although no go-go-fun time until 1k miles :hsnono:)

Are you going to come to the mountain run on the 21st?

Yeah I might if I have something together by then.

Good luck on the break in thats usually a long 1000 miles.

Breakin 1000 miles? Drive it like you would everyday and seat those rings in first. Easy breakin = lower performing and lasting motor.
