Well I picked up the impreza L coupe a few months back off of CraigsList with the intentions of driving her till she dies. Then I came across this battered banana (02WRX). Some time in the coming months be on the lookout for several G2G's to make these 2 suby's one. Coupe: Battered Banana: If anyone is interested in parts from either hit me up I may not be using all but surely the engine, tranny, dash, entire wiring harness, and most of the susupension will go into the coupe. The coupe currently has 196K runs great and gets decent gas mileage AC works great...If you are interested in that 2.2 hit me up come take a drive and make an offer...I will let it go REAL cheap. It also had a 5spd tranny installed sometime from the previous owner not sure of the mileage, it shifts great no grinds it will go as well again CHEAP.
I may need a front wheel bearing if you think they are salvageable. I am checking with Kingwrex and WJM to see if they are compatible.
^^since it sat for nearly 2 years they may not be good. I surely did not count on it. I did plan to use anything that I could unless I can use the hubs from the coupe in combination with other suspension parts from the wrx. WJM what say you? bring me a GOOD beer and you can have it.
so that should net me decent $$$ on the trunk or hood as it seems that those are the only body pieces that are not toast, well maybe the passenger doors.
^^the car did not come with front seats or an exhaust (turbo all the way back) In fact I am probably going to need front seats as well if I can find some that match the rear seat and it all goes in the coupe. I dont know still have to vac up all the glass, the car has 83K so probably some wear. I plan to use the center pieces armrest and full dash but all other pieces are up for grabs. I will take some pics and post them up in the first post some time before I go to bed.
Does anyone know if the L model can run a FMIC under the stock bumper? just thinking complete sleeper, no hood scoop, hidded FM, blow the F'ing doors off.
how bad off are the headlights on the banana? depending on how my tests go this weekend...i may take them off your hands if they aren't to bad...mine are bad cloudy.
I am thinking the lenses may be alright. The insides are broken from what I remember. I am guessing the front door cards wont fit the coupe if I can get a confirmation that this is the case they are yours. Not sure what to charge tho
the only ones I can find for sale are 400 and that has to be too high how about 250. my bad those were sti (I guess they are more) 175? I dunno got any tradeables? You helping with the swap?

so i am almost 90% that i will be buying a 4 door L here shortly as a DD. it too will be getting a similar treatment. have lots of parts lined up already. I will be following/helping with your build as much as possible.

so rick, when is the next time you will be working on your swap? i will be getting a majority of the non-essentials tomorrow, (i.e. springs, brakes, audio, rear sway). wish i could get the drivetrain, but alas, we won't have enough time. i wanna stop by and give you a hand so i will gain some experience for my swap/perhaps buy some parts you don't use.
I am thinking soon, but will only have Sunday to work on it for the next 8 weeks. Soccer on Saturdays and work during the week.
