I just went by Walmart to try and buy a gallon jug of Rotella T 5W-40. The price of it went up from $14 a gallon to $20 a gallon. Anyone know where I can still get the gallon jugs for the $14 a gallon price?
it seems walmart is only place that carries it locally. how do you like the oil, any particular reason you picked it other than the bikers love it?
I read some good reviews on it so I decided to give it a try. I thought it was a bargain to get 5 quarts worth for under $20. Now that price of the gallon jug has gone up, I will probably go back the German Castrol 0W-30
Coolrex has over 100K on Rotella I believe (not sure if he has been using it the entire time) and swears by it. I plan to give her a go once I am done using all my mobil 1.
The local walmart here in stockbridge had it for 18 and then it went up to 20. Better than 50 for a gallon of motul, I say. The Rotella is amazing oil. My car loves it. For the price you can't do better.
It just pulls so much smoother than when I used dino. Also it doesn't go through any at all. You can just tell, idk. lol
I wish they made their 15-40 in synthetic. most every autozone/advance I've seen carries the 5-40 synthetic in gallon jugs. I think o'reillys does also
good oil, i went bit above 3k mark this time to see how it does, no consumption, still have good viscosity, and dark brownish not black. I'll still pay $20 per gallon. I think Rotella T is second after Quaker Stake Racing oil line up in amount of Anti-wear additives.
I have 112K on the odometer. I used to use Mobil 1 until my car hit 40K. Every oil change I had to add 1/2 qt of oil at some point in the 3K interval. Then I switched to Rotella T and I NEVER have to add oil and many times I go to 5K intervals. I drive the daylights out of my car and I'm meth injected. I've even made a stupid mistake of cranking the car with no oil in it and it ran for 30 seconds and it's fine (thanks to the wifey for interuppting me for 30 mins while I'm working on the car). Rotella T is the stuff. Doug at Topspeed has also stated that he has ALWAYS used Shell Rotella oil.
