How hard is it to install an oil cooler like the one Doug had in Luke's old black One Lap STi? What brand was it and is it a complicated install.

Anyone that knows anything about them let me know.

the cooler is a setrab oil cooler, using a mocal sandwich adapter. The lines are all custom, but its not that hard.

I think there is a whole kit on NASIOC also. I read through the "how-to" one day and it seems less involved than an up-pipe or clutch. Neither of those were that hard either though. Just make sure to use plenty of silicone tape on all the threads and torque to spec. Also check all connections after a quick test drive for leaks

find a local tractor or hydraulic supply place. have them make custom length braided hoses for you with whatever fittings you desire. if you need any little bullshit welded, let me know, or use emachineshop for custom brackets and $AVE

Is it even necessary for one of these? Or is it one of those, it helps the engine survive by making it more efficient items?
